Tap at the source. Pours mildly unfiltered but very very pale yellow. White head. Aroma is banana city, some clove, wheat, touch of lemon. One sided. Flavor is banana, lemon, wheat. Ehh. Underwhelming. Too much of a banana note. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 26, 2013
A: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Mild Lacing
S: Lemons, Banana, Wheat
T: Banana, Lemons, Wheat, Mild Clove
M: Average Carbonation, Light Bodied, Mildly Bitter
Overall, a little too much citrus for a hefeweizen but decent drinking

Draft. Pours hazy yellow orange with a thin white head. Fruity and yeast, with banana, lemon, cloves, and light floral notes. Good stuff. UDBeernut (2883) - Saint Johns, Florida, USA - FEB 26, 2012

I’m not a big Hefeweizen drinker but this one is pretty good. The banana aftertaste is both barely noticable and somehow extremely pleasant. Give this a try for sure.

In short: A watery lemonade with some rotting bananas. Yep, that good.Sammy (13000) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 22, 2010
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy pale yellow body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose has the basic lemon and banana notes that I expect from an entry-level brewpub hefe. It goes downward from here. The body is very watery. The wheat is elusive. This like a lemonade with rotting bananas in the after-taste. This is less than bland, this is a bit offensive. It irritates me a lot when I am served a shitty beer in a brewpub. Plus I never know how much I should tip a waiter I just threw my pint at.
Draft at the brewpub. Yellow though marketed as unfiltered. No head. A story in bannana. Not as a mastery of yeast, rather as a chick fruit drink with bannana syrup from a can thrown in. That’s how it tasted. Not so drinkable like that, but I can see patrons liking it so.Sticky aroma and mouthfeel. zdk (1917) - New York, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2010
tap: thought this was a great hefeweizen. arouma is banana, trail mix (dried fruit, yogurt covered nuts, apricots) cloves, touch of cinnamon. Hazy yellow pour. smooth tasty with just a touch of bitter hops. NPRugby11 (219) - New York, USA - JUL 11, 2010
Pint at the restaurant, the drink menu states that they use the Weihenstephan yeast strain so I was very excited. What I got was a beer that had the smell, but was not cloudy at all and had that "every other beer Otter makes" aftertaste. I didn’t really taste anything like a hefeweizen until the bottom quarter of the pint. Terribly disappointing, and someone needs to tell the brewmaster to sterilize those fermentation tanks between runs so the beers don’t all taste the same. Light yellowy-green color; half-finger of fizzy white head. Lightly yeasty; touch sour and acidic; pretty mild. Lightly tart, yeastiness; a little out of the style, but still some notes of banana and clove. Light and very prickly carbonation. Not bad drinking; light and refreshing enough if not a little bland. Overall, not the best example of the style, but not terrible.
