with dinner tonight pours hazy orange amber with small head. A bit of citrus in the nose, light caramel joins. Bitterness is at a nice level but not a whole lot of hop flavor to back, just enough citrus to know finishing hops were added. Good full malt body. ok

Tap at the source. Pours deep orange, clear, white head. Aroma is lemon, orange, caramel malt. Flavor is caramel malt heavy, orange and citrus notes. Sort of hoppy English style ipa going on.

A slightly above average IPA. Dark amber color with a slightly hoppy aroma. Minimal head. Taste is hoppy with a malt backbone. Finish is clean and slightly hoppy.

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Resiny citrus hops with caramel malt. Sweet malt start with a nice resingy bitter finish. The bitter continues to grow as you sit. Good carbonation from a medium bodied beer. Just misses that wow.

Served in a shaker light hazy golden with half inch of head. First sip is piney with a lingering dryness. Second sip pulls a little maltiness and then the hoppiness. Not to much depth, but feels like a solid single hop. Solid beer from a small NY brewpub. Come stop by.

A: Hazy Orange/Amber hue, mild White Head, Great Lacing

S: Floral, Bready, mild Piney

T: Bitter, Floral, Piney

M: Decent Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Dry, Crisp

Overall, a decent IPA that is very drinkable but doesnt blow you away or burn you out either.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy golden with a small off white head. Mild nose mainly of citrus. Taste was on the bitter side. Medium bodied with a bitter aftertaste. Nothing special, but drinkable.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 9/29/12

Aroma: It has a fairly hoppy nose, with some pine, grains, and a little earth

Appearance: This one pours a clear orange color, with white head and lace

Flavor: This one has a dry, medium-plus bitter flavor to it that is similar to the nose

Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent drinkability to it, and a fairly dry finish

Overall Impression:
I thought this was a solid not wonderful IPA, which is pretty much along the lines of how I felt about most of the Gilded Otter beers (compared to their respective styles) that I have reviewed thus far.

blipp (9784) - La Mesa, California, USA - JUL 26, 2012
Draft. Pours orange with a white head. Muted floral hoppy notes, light diacetyl, and toffee. Not completely awful, but after a few solid offerings from this place, this was pretty disappointing.
