Sample at the Salem brewpub. Dark amber color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to a sparse outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of fruit, malt and spice. Full-bodied with flavors of ripe fruit, caramel malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with a tangerine and smoked malt aftertaste. Decent overall. bpreo (3011) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUN 26, 2016

Tap at 16 Tons. Dark brown pour with light tan head and solid lacing. Aroma and taste of citrus fruits like tangerines and oranges, with black tea and a lighter alcohol feel than you’d expect from such a high abv beer. Overall, pretty enjoyable and unusual brew. Livid (49) - - JAN 29, 2012
Growler from draft, served in a globe. Pours dark, hazy amber/copper, lightly carbonated with almost no head. The aroma is fruity, mango and pineapple, with tart undertones. Medium-full body, again lightly carbonated. The flavor is malty with strong tropical fruit flavors and a hint of citrus. There is no real bitterness, and at 11+% ABV, there is very little alcohol warmth. This is a delicious, but dangerous beer. I do think it could use a bit more carbonation to help balance the strong fruitiness.
