Almost like a hoppy version of their Weiss. A tad cloying, big on the banana and apples, with a prickly finish. Solid.

33 cl. dåse. 5,0 %. Næsten den værste øl jeg har smagt, tyk, let brunlig, bare ikke min smag. Købt i Tokyo, Japan.

Can from my local Gourmet City. Ginga Kogen's Extra Pale Ale, 100% hopped with Citra. 5% Nice deep orange pour with a fizzy light beige head. Very lemoney, light white pepper and a buttery maltiness at first which then disappeared. Light bodied with a raspy carbonation. The taste is a vibrant citra hoppiness but the malts just don't provide enough support. Decent but it could have been great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

caramel, ginger, vanilla, orange, cloudy, frothy, medium bitterness, medium body, sticky. Smells very nice, fall/winter spices, a bit like a pumpkin latte. Looks a bit like dirty dishwater; unappealing. Taste is all over the place, initially a tad fruity, quickly shifts into a pleasant maltiness, but that then dissolves into a very dirty hodgepodge of flavors again resembling dishwater. Easily the worst Ginga Kogen has to offer in my opinion.

Pours messy and dirty orange-brown. Not really pleasant to the eye. Aroma is OK, some malty breadiness, feels at east fresh. Taste has some hop bitterness, not sweet - but really messy. No Citra there - if you don’t call the skunky hops that they have used Citra. Overall, drinkable and better than usual macro’s but not anything I would search out again.

Cloudy orange body with foamy head. Overripe fruit. Light mango, apricot, grape, dough, sticky bittersweet finish. Quite unbalanced, not awful but definitely not a pale ale and like most of their brews seems to have some weizen edge to it, as if they used the same yeast on every brew...

Can. Not extra pale, but a dirty, muddy, brown orange color with lace. Nose is caramel, cepicy Brit hops, tobacco, cinnamon, grass. Sweet caramel and fruit flavor, orange, peach, apples, not much hop. Vey boring and lame attempt. Not bad, but they could easily aim higher.. Ok body.

maekchu (3953) - Hirakata, JAPAN - SEP 12, 2015
Can. Light caramel nose with moderate Citra presence, a bit zesty. Medium dark orange/brown color. Lightly bitter stone fruit, smooth malty mid palate, with small hits of bitterring in late mid and final. Thin-medium body. Clean and fairly tasty.

Can from food show in shibuya. Drank from the can. Some light citrus on the nose. Light lemon zest, citrus and some caramel on the palate. Fairly dry and crisp finish with some bitterness. Not as sweet as their other beers. Really not bad. Couldn’t really find the Citra though...
