Thank you again to Chris for this rare gift. Pours a bright yellowish, hazy golden with a full, bubbly white head. Aroma is banana, orange, wheat, and spices. It has a very Belgian impression to it. The taste is similar to the aroma. The banana stands out the most, followed by the orange and spices. Short aftertaste of banana and spice. Some bubbly carbonation up front, but it seems to be more flat at the end. Light in body with a slick texture. It is refreshing to drink. I had this many years ago on a visit to Japan. I think I liked it more back then when I was more naive. However I’m pleased to say that I think this is still very good.

Can. Light golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - some wheat and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light - some banana, light fruitiness, light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light - some banana, faint hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light - some banana, light hoppyness. Caramel sweetish hefe way too for me.Quite one-dimensional, lacks character.

Komugi No Beer pours a hazy amber color with a small head. The pleasant nose is rich with lemon and orange notes, backed by light clove and yeast. A muted sweetness from the malts makes up the attack, followed by a mid-palate of citrus and cloves on a sourdough background before it makes way for the crisp finish with muted bitterness and pleasant acidity. The mouthfeel is rich yet this brew is very easy to mouth. What a pleasant surprise!

35cl can in Shinjuku, expensive. Pours murky pale yellow color almost milky. Creamy white head, persistent. Aroma of wheat, flour, banana, pizza dough, light spice. Taste is balanced. Average carbonation light to medium body. Nice weizen from Japan.

10,1 oz beautiful blue bottle from Rakuya Kitchen in Dupont Circle. Washington D.C. Normally I?d reject a wheat beer simply on principle, but here they have things done perfectly. One of the best I?ve eve had. The restaurant is superb as well -- try the duck salad for something really different.
