2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Not bad, not exceptional. The nose is very citrusy with big lemon nofes backed by clove, dough, and a touch of vanilla. Not as much banana presence as in other versions of the style. The beer is hazy yellow with an oddly quickly falling head for a wheat beer. The taste is crisp lemon backed by clove, but limit to those two. Crisp and light bodied, this would make a very good summer beer to relax with.
February 22nd, 2015 - On the nose is a bunch of banana, spilling out of the can, like vapors in scientific labs in movies. In spite of the aroma, it comes across mostly as a traditional (orthodox?) hefeweizen. But the flavor is incredibly butter and harsh. There's banana here, but it seems like a band aid over an egregious wound. The carbonation is too strong, too, giving an already brutish flavor a rough callousness. And even those banana flavors, whirling and tossed in the tempest of bitterness, is too strong and intense. Dredd (979) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2017 hazy light mandarin pour with white head. light orange and coriander dominate the palate. finish is reasonably long for this style. JaKeAFC (1307) - ITALY - MAY 24, 2017
35cl can a friend brought over from Tokyo. Cloudy spent yellow color short white head thin persistence no lacing. Aroma.Unexpectedly sharp, lots of dough, yeast, wheat, banana, bubblegum with citrus backing. Taste sweet balanced by quite strong sourness. Average carbonation medium body solvent finish, thought abv being much higher. Ok japweizen. sephyrott (271) - - APR 26, 2017
0.33ml can at the hotel in Tokyo. Wheat beer, slightly touch to banana but in general not a very good beer beerplace (2314) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2016
A small can at Matt’s. Pours a hazy straw with a white head. Aroma is slightly chemical with some bananas, spices and smokey notes. Taste is similar. Meh.

Tasting at Matt’s, canlupulist (354) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2016
Cloudy blond color, a bit pale. The aroma is classic for a Hefeweizen, spicy and estery, light banana. The flavor is a bit different, more sour, a bit lemony, and spicy.
Not bad; it’s messy, but at least it has some character.
Pours a hazy straw colour. Aroma of banana, cloves, and maybe a hint of oxidization. Tastes true to style, but thin bodied. Not bad! Thanks Josh. mcberko (19837) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2016
Can, pours a cloudy blonde with a medium white head. Aroma brings out light banana, biscuity malt, and some herbal, vegetal notes. Flavour brings out a lot of cloves, a little citrus, and a hint of banana. Very citric on the finish, with the clove dominating. Not too thrilling. left_bank (106) - JAPAN - JAN 27, 2016
Beer looks great for the first minute, not so much after that. The beer is a too tart for my liking, and "disturbs" the other flavors...which of course will lower my palate score.
Thought it was going to be better. willisread (3802) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 14, 2015
Can from foodshow in shibuya. Drank straight from the can. Big clove aromas upon opening with some banana as well on the nose. Starts out slightly sweet on the palate and then becomes lightly peppery/spicy. Tastes of bans cream pie and bubblegum are there but not cloying. Excellent peppery dry finish. A very respectable weizen.
