@ Glacier BrewHouse, 11.18%ABV. Clear dark amber color with tan head. Fresh sawed wood, vanilla, caramel, spicy pit fruit aromas. Medium body with average co2. Sharp caramel, tart pit fruits, smooth vanilla, wood char flavors--a bit too sweet but tasty---
On tap at Glacier brew house.
This was poured into a wine glass.
The appearance was a hazy dark brown color with no head and no lacing.
The smell had a big boozy woody punch of booze. A light toffee and tobacco enters in after a bit of warming.
The taste was mainly sweet and woody. A light sweet woody aftertaste lingers into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good barleywine that I would have again. SHIG (4956) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - JAN 17, 2014
Draft: murky brown with little to no head. Aroma is sweet oaky malty. Taste is vanilla, oak, high alcohol, and caramel malts. MikeJslc (778) - USA - DEC 12, 2013

Had on draft at the brewery.Vanilla, woody, raisin, malty, warming, fruity/cherry, creamy mouth feel. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Draft @ Glacier, 2012 vintage. Murky copper with a small off white head. Aroma of toffee, dark fruit, vanilla, coconut and butterscotch. Flavor of sweet caramel malt, alcohol/vanilla, oak, fruity with some light buttery notes. Medium body with a slightly sweet syrupy mouth feel. Really like the fresh virgin oak, it adds a lot of vanilla and coconut like the description says.

Nice and tasty.
Dark amber in color, clear with a thin head. Super oak and strong barley wine aromas. Lots of Vanilla and sweet flavors. This was one tasty brew. Travlr (24315) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2012
Draft at the source. This might be an alias of the Makers Mark version, if the only difference is the barrel. I put it as a separate entry because itís marketed as a different beer, and the flavor, aroma and even the appearance is very different, although the abv is the same. Anyway, itís dark and hazy brown, medium beige head. Aroma is butterscotch, coffee, vanilla, coconut. Taste is rich and chocolatey, with caramel and coffee. Very nice.
