The menu just said Glazen Toren Canaster Z, but I’m guessing it’s whiskey since it smelled like an old fashioned (and this one has the most ratings). nuplastikk (6312) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Tap at Max’s. Really quite sour, some grape tones. A touch thin at times. Smoky. No Belgian effervescence..more of a cask feel. A touch oily. World Class. Unique. solidfunk (9009) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAR 12, 2014
First Zymatore I’ve had, and it’s certainly nice. Pours a hazy golden. Actually has a very wine-like taste rather than the whiskey barrels they were aged in. A little sour apple cider aromas as well. I like the way this comes toghether - makes for a nice beer. Tap at Rustico. jkwood04 (5448) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 3, 2014
750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours deep brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of funky notes, sweet malts, light oak and vanilla, and some sourness. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A pretty interesting beer but not the best. Cory (372) - , California, USA - OCT 10, 2013
Draft. Sour nose, strawberries and lemons, thick wheaty, little sweet. Melted butter comes in towards the end. Trappist SourFest.

A hazed dark brown ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, a sweet mix of dark fruits, cherries, vanilla, Brett and lactic acid. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light molasses, cherries, lactic points, cork and Brett, very nice. On tap at Freakin Frog. marcus (10326) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 18, 2013
On tap at The Trappist. Pours near black with a nice tan head and a sour smoky aroma. There is a trace of scotch ale flavor that is overwhelmed by sourness and whiskey. But it all goes together quite well resulting in a very tasty brew. bytemesis (8540) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - APR 10, 2013
Tap. Pours clear ruby brown with a small beige head. Aroma is funk, red wine, cherry. Flavor is very lightly sweet, medium tart cherry, vinaceous, whiskey notes present, but not strong. Dry finish, light warming on the palate. Medium body, rich mouthfeel, low carbonation. Quite enjoyable. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 10, 2013
Draft at Blue monk, toffee and red wine colored pour. Tart cherry nose, little whiskey gathered. Red grapes, Flanders aroma. Flavor is tart fruits, raisins, tart cherries. Again little whiskey notes. Taste like a Flanders red. Good beer TheBeerGod (6233) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - APR 6, 2013
Draft at The Birch. Copper pour with a ring of foam around the glass. Aroma is sweet malt and caramel intermingled with tart fruit, funky notes and booze. Taste is mostly tart fruit, dark fruit and funky notes, and this was surprising to me. Expected more sweet malts and caramel notes. The boozy notes were also present but not as up front as expected. Body is medium with a lingering tart finish and near non-existent carbonation on the palate. Ends with more tart fruits, dark fruit notes, faint caramel, soft booze and funky notes.
