UPDATED: MAY 10, 2016 Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is bananas, cloves, yeasty. Taste is very minerally, just hints of bananas, quite clean, but still very yeasty, and slightly tart & metallic. Rather thin overall, but quite refreshing and interesting, completely different from the South Bavarian Weizens. I haven?t had many Franconian Weizen yet, I hear they usually are more minerally, so I suppose it?s rather typical.

Hefeweizen pours out of the bottle in a cloudy orange colour with big steady head and medium body. Aroma of yeast and bread. Taste of ripe yeast, bread, fruit salad, bananas and light malt. Okay to drink, yet nothing that special or nice.

500ml bottle. Hazy dark golden colour with huge, frothy, off-white head. Minimally wheaty and yeasty aroma, a touch of wet straw. Taste is cautiously wheaty, yeasty, a touch of apple; slightly watery.

500 ml flip-top bottle in Garmisch Germany. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a white head. Fresh, fruity banana aroma. Taste is fruity with a slight yeastiness. Short, dry palate. Very drinkable but thin and not so chewy.

0,5 l swing top bottle BB 02. Feb 13. From Basic in Munich. banana, clove, citrus, vanilla, cereal, amber-orange, cloudy, frothy, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly sour, medium body, creamy, lively A nice organic Weizen with too much carbonation.

Bottle, 5.3%. Good citric banana aroma. Cloudy yellow colour. Big stable white head. The flavour has some banana and is a little citric, but also watery with a bit too much CO2 flavour for my taste. OK for the style.

Bottle. Pours hazy light golden with airy white head. Clear, sour-sweet aroma of hops, yeast and grain. Ditto taste. Slightly skunky aftertaste, but not to the extent that would disturb my tasting pleasure. Rather watery, but not that bad.
