500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate, roast malts, hints of coffee. Taste is fairly sweet for a porter, dark fruits and chocolate mostly, some roast malt and coffee bitterness on the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation.

(2017 London) 1/2 Pint Cask @ Lyric. Black, mocha head. Nose is thin cacao, roast, mocha, surprisingly umami. Taste is too umami for my licking but surprisingly intense, soy sauce, strong roast, herbal,… Soft carbonation, cask soy sauce, umami body. Not my thing but surprisingly heavy, respectable.

Chocolate. Liquorice. Medium bodied. Sticky. Soft carbonation. Low key finish. Good stuff. A decent depth to it.

Milk chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, toasted malts, light caramel. Black, small, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. Creamy chocolate, some bitterness coming up, intensifying to the dry finish, dark, toasted malts, filter coffee, cacao. Beautiful Porter, excellent aroma followed by complex palate. Pint at the Bath Brew House, Bath.

Pint at the Crosse Keys JDW. A: Dark black with a ruby tinge, medium head, well retained, didn’t leave a whole lot of lacing. S: Smoked meat, dark chocolate and a big hit of smoke. T: Dark chocolate, quite meaty, burnt charcoal, decent bitterness, smoke. M: Light body, decent amount of carbonation, went down well. O: Reminiscent of Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen not easy to classify, but very drinkable.

Fat. Mörkbrun öl med ett långvarigt beigt skum. Dofter av choklad, karamell och rostad malt. Smakinslag av choklad, rostad malt, trä och lakrits. Något tunn i kroppen, men inte alls en oäven porter.
