COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Warning. Producing thundering eruptions of hoppiness. Bursting with the aroma of classic american ipa hops, along with a blast of new Australian hop varietals, Bootleg Fireworks is set to detonate a taste explosion. Though backed up by a light, crisp malt profile, this double ipa isn’t balanced - It’s all about the hops. We packed nearly 6 pounds of green powder into each barrel, and it’s ready to erupt from each can. Boom !

From can: pours gold with white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, soapy lemon, something very much like sorachi ace. Quite bitter... something you do not see that often anymore. Apricot and citrus and the like. Interesting but not my favorite.

On tap at Underground. Pours a fairly clear gold with a medium sized white head. Soft musk and melon on the nose, a touch of citrus, a bit of fruit. Medium bodied, big and musky, a touch of fruit, melon, a bit of fruit. Malt, fruit, a bit of sweetness and a good amount of musk. Quite tasty.

Poured from cool looking 16 oz can. Pours hazy golden with white head. Caramel malt aroma with citrus. Flavor is caramel malt followed by ripe mango and citrus with a pine, boozy finish.

Can at Hellcat Annie’s. Unclear orange color, strong off white lace. Drippy / streaky on the glass. Aroma of juicy hops and booze. Mango and pineapple. A little pine. Caramel. A bit too much booze for my personal preference. Okay, but kinda accentuates my issues with most 9% DIPAs. The alcohol overrides any chance of beautiful, bright subtly. 16 ounces later I’m just wishing I had a 4 oz sample instead of a whole can.

Poured from can nice orange color with a thin white head. Aromas of caramel malt grass dank citrus and pine. Taste is mild sweet caramel grapefruit pith grass and lingering pine bitterness.

Mep3222 (1577) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - DEC 5, 2016
Grassy, medicinal, tropical hop aroma and flavor. Malt balances the hops well, maybe even slight malt sweetness in the finish. Alcohol is masked well. Enjoyable double IPA. Maybe slightly on the medicinal hoppy side but also has a good tropical hop profile.

Tap at stags head I’m heading to Maine this weekend but too excited had to start early. Golden pour smallish white head. Nose is light pineapple and pine. Tastes of pineapple, mango, tea leaves, wet wood, pine needles. Slight slick palate some booze on finish. Good

Thin white head of varying sized fizzy bubbles. Light caramel malts, pineapple and some biscuits. Color is a nice golden orange. Good helping of roasted malts, more pinapple juice and some tea leaves. Light bitterness and a but of sweetness from the pineapple for balance. Minimal alcohol presence. Very well balanced and easy drinking. A very good IIPA!

williamstome (1902) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Gold pour, minimal offwhite head. Nice aroma of fruit, caramel, light resin. Flavor is similar, but danker and quite boozy. Pretty nice, but not the "explosion of flavor" the bottle shop proprietor made it out to be.

Slightly cloudy darker golden. Citrusy aroma. Medium body, slightly sticky. A few years ago this would have blown my top but, things have changed. Very nice beer either way.
