3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Hashigo Zake
Medium bodied, slightly oily/syrupy and not overly dark, good lacing and head, big fruity hops with noticeable malt nose, well rounded taste with a sweet side to it,
This is a good APA but you get the feeling they were holding back - which is a personal view surely. If I were to rate this against IPAs it would of course get a higher score.

What a great pale ale. When so many pale ales are mini-IPAs this one really fits the bill. A good whiff of tropical fruit hops on the nose. Decent hop flavour backed up by a solid, but not overwhelming, malt and caramel backbone. This beer is all about balance. Enough hop to let you know you are drinking an APA (not an IPA), but balanced with a whack of malt, including some tasty residual sweetness. Passionfruit, citrus and tropical fruit flavours et al in abundance but still in control. My new favourit APA (apologies to Epic)
