UPDATED: JUN 21, 2014 A crisp, clean brew with a nicely balanced body and a smooth bitter after-taste. This would be an excellent introduction to craft beers - and if the drinker returned to a major brew you could pretty much say there was no saving them! Okay, so the good news for the brewer is that although I meant to rate this the first time I tried it, it took about six or seven goes (on various occasions) to get around to it. The other good news for brewer and drinker alike is that this proved no inconvenience as the beer is just wonderful.
Excellent reddish colour with a good finger of head on top that lasted most of the way down the pint. Aromas of spruce and American hops and a good gratifying hoppy punch upon tasting. Full mouthfeel and carbonation and plenty of bitterness that lasted well after the pint was inhaled.
I love a red ale and this nailed it.
