From a 22 oz bottle, different label than in your stock photo. Poured into a Caracole Saxo chalice. Pours amber-copper with minimum head and lace...in fact there was barely a fizz when I popped this cap. Minimal carbonation and moderate mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, caramel, sorghum, sweet prunes and raisins. Overall big and rich and sweet...bottle may have lost the appropriate carbonation. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 3, 2014
"kinda sorta doesn’t work as a barleywine - the weird mix of citrus and vanilla/caramel/oak makes it not fit the style, per se. but - as an overall beer, it was quite tasty and unique. the feel was excellent." onceblind (10893) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 26, 2013
Hazy copper with a thin ring of head. Aroma is strong and malty boozy, with some burnt caramel and rich nutty stone fruit. Flavor is just a bit too hot and bitter, with some earthy floral hoppiness throughout and a big boozy malt backbone. A great and flavorful sipper, just a bit 2-dimensional and hot. ajnepple (7350) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 4, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2014 On tap at the brewery. Dark orange, brownish amber and hazy with a small head. Malty caramel aroma with light alcohol. Sweet, strong and lightly bitter. Medium to full body with a oily, creamy texture and low carbonation. Finishes on the sweet side. Nice, my favorite GCB to date. Update: 2013 vintage. Similar to the above. Rich, malty and smooth. Good English style barleywine OldMrCrow (2446) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 15, 2013
Well-aged bottle (2008), provenance unknown.
Copper-amber pour, oxidized hop nose as expected for the age, sweet honey and raisin, slightly sour, some alcohol burn. Pretty tasty all in all.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark ruby red almost brown with thin ring of off white head, aroma brings notes of big toffee, caramel, some dark fruits with hints of raisin, touch of heat in there as well with a hint of earth and nutty notes as well. Taste is a mix of sweet caramel, toffee, and a nice vanilla note, some even slight marshmallow notes with fruity dark fruits, hint of cocoa powder and chocolate notes as well, hints of some slight earth finishing fairly sweet, but little to no heat on the taste. Pretty nice! Would like to try one with a year or two of age. Ungstrup (38986) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 17, 2011
