Pyobon (1543) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 31, 2017
(Can) Pours slightly hazy amber mid brown with excellent dense tan head. Nice aroma, mainly pine with some floral and candy hints. Medium body with smooth creamy carbonation. Good taste, although rather confused. Hops apparent throughout. There’s earthy flavours, and berry notes. Pleasant, drinkable, but taste seemed confused.

Poured a hazy dark caramel colour that shows nice coppery tones in strong light. One-to two-finger off-white frothy head that retained very well and laced OK. Carbonation moderate, lively and medium to coarse. Aroma of pine followed by earthy/musty notes and hints tropical fruits. Taste dominated by moderately strong pine plus sweet caramel malt and hints of citrus; sweetness not over-done; becomes more piny as it warms. Medium body. Smooth and slightly creamy with a lingering moderate strength nice bitterness.

Great aroma - too malt heavy for me for top marks but the hops are superb - strong herbal pine - a good drink.
