"This strong ale is very barleywine like in color, feel, and flavor, with a slightly herbal hoppy but still carmel malt forward aroma. Smoth, firm body, and good balance in the flavor. Solid."

Pours a clear amber copper color with an antique white head. Candied fruit nose. Very sweet, but naturally so. Mouthfeel is pretty active. Gets fizzy and warm from the hop and alcohol burn. The flavor is very nice. Unique American strong. Just a hint of tartness overtaken nearly immediately by sweetness. The finish is quite bitter. Some brown sugar and sweet ripe fruit. brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 19, 2012
Pours an orange/amber color with an off-white head. Nose is nicely hoppy with some grapefruit, pineapple, and tangerine aromas. A touch of pine, too. Sweet bready malt, a bit of caramel, and mild diacetyl in the background. The flavor is fairly sweet, but also hop forward. Lots of grapefruit, tangerine, and orange, some pine bitterness, and a hint of alcohol. As with the nose, a bit of diacetyl in there, too. Growler. Rating #4. I really enjoyed this beer, lots of pineapple and tropical fruits, big hop punch and very drinkable. Really nice. (2415) beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - FEB 24, 2012
A solid if rather staid addition to the Golden Road line-up. Seems to lack a certain kick that I expect from strong ales but that could be that I am more accustomed to bigger versions. Slight ABV burn and good malt backbone.

Draft. Amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Sumemr fruit aroma. Sumemr fruit and light grapefruit flavor with light pine and caramel. Medium bodied. Summer fruit and light grapefruit lingers with caramel. BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - FEB 1, 2012
On tap. Pours with a clear orange body with a lasting off-white head that leaves great lace. Aromas are malty, biscuity, sort of a goldfish cracker note. Lots of PNW american hops in the nose, citrusy and slightly overripe fruit (sort of columbusy or possibly centennial). Flavors are very sweet, bready and malty. A bit cheesecake like with mild diacetyl. Citrusy hops. Medium bubbles. Not my favorite.
