Good smooth taste, never gives a sour after taste like most Browns. Very tasty. Goes good with this BLT I’m eating. foamyhead (16) - California, USA - APR 27, 2012
Very solid brown ale. It’s hard to give any brown ale a super high score, but this one really delivers what you want in an easy drinking session ale.
Not too chocolate heavy, not too bubbly. I think this is a british style brown as opposed to the sweeter American style version. badpuppy69 (321) - orange, California, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Pours a clear rich copper color with a nice thick head. Aroma is choc and nuts and malt. Taste follows the Aroma very well. Smooth easy drinking brew. Andrus86 (662) - Busselton, WA, AUSTRALIA - JUL 3, 2015
CAN. Cola brown with small foamy beige head.. Chocolate malt & drinking chocolate sweetness on the nose.. Straight from can, Its almost a NesQuick/Milo malty vibe with a subtle choc/mocha sweetness.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel Fatehunter (2568) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - OCT 11, 2014
Pours two fingers of light tan head on a brown-red body.
The aroma has lots of roasted and toasted malt.
The taste is milky, roasted malt, nutty, mild lemon bitter. Great balance.
Smooth texture with low carbonation.
An excellent brown.

Body:Sweet roasted, hint of smooth chocolate. Light bitter hoppyness
Finish:Dry, sweet and more roasted and toasted flavors.
Over-all/Mouth-feel: Medium body. Sweeter than the normal west coast browns. The best beer from Golden Road I have tried so far. StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 27, 2015
From a can. Pours like coke, not much head, mild chocolate aroma and flavours, roasted bitterness and caramel, pretty nice stuff. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Growler. Rating #1. Clear brown pour with a dirty white head. Nice toasted aroma with a light sweetness. Flavor is similar, nice toast with an underlying sweetness. Tasty stuff. (2137)

Tasted on tap in a plastic cup at an LAX airport bar during a World Cup game. It poured an opaque very dark brown with thin but persistent beige foam. Dark colour but light body and dry finish. Sounds like Guinness, but more complex grainbill: hints of bread, dark toast, chocolate, bright acidity of medium roast coffee, mildly fruity, nice hoppy bittering balance, with a lingering multilayered aftertaste. Very flavourful. It was extremely toasty, but I didn’t notice the smoked malt mentioned in the description. Strong carbonation makes it even more refreshing. Good stuff. If it were local, I’d buy it regularly.
