Strong Ale 2014 day two. Dark brown color with tan head. Chocolate , dark fruit, dark roast aromas. Smooth medium body. Lightly astringent tobacco, dry chocolate flavors with black coffee, dark fruits----leathery ashy finish----not my style slowrunner77 (12455) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 10, 2014
"Redone as an 8.5% imperial rye porter, and it was faaaaantastic. I’ve given out a few 4.3’s today, but damn, this earns it. Wonderful aroma of chocolate, coffee, spicy rye. Smooth, robust flavor and body. Got better and better. Hard to say wether this or the IIPA was my favorite." DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Decent porter, nothing crazy here, dark pour, not too strong so easy to drink, on tap at Bar Food in SaMo Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Pours a deep brown color with a chocolate malt aroma. A deeply rich chocolate flavor throughout with a slight spice. The flavors mix together wonderfully with a bitterness that disappears quickly. A tasty beer that was mild for an Imperial Porter. Rocketman2013 (108) - Texas, USA - AUG 20, 2013
Draft. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Dark brown with cream colored head. Sweet initial taste and finish. Medium body and creamy texture.

Golden road Hudson 7/28/13 Draft, Haven. Good solid strong porter, rich body with toasted dark malts, chocolate, brown bread. Rye? Where’d that come in? Solid, but nothing stands out to make you pay much more attention than the liquid before you. Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - JUL 7, 2013

The pour is almost black in color with a khaki head. Nose is heavy on the roasted malt and dark chocolate. Nice rye notes with a bit of coffee, molasses, and licorice. The flavor is lightly bitter with a lot of roasted malt, molasses, licorice, and dark chocolate. There’s also some hints of dark fruit, brown sugar, and rye on the palate. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - SEP 5, 2012
On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours dark brown with a huge tan head. The aroma has lots of dry toast with a little chocolate and earthy rye malt. The flavor has some burnt toast with a little chocolate and rye. There are hints of roasted malt, but this isn’t real roasty. The body is full, the finish is dry. Not bad. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - JUL 31, 2012
Nice strong and roasty beer. The spice plays in the background of this dark brown beer that tastes a little stronger than the 7% implies. On par with the stout from Golden Road.
