Strong pines and hops on the nose. See through amber/copper with a relatively large foam at the top. Huge mouthful of piney hops and grapefruit overtones. Subtle caramel and oat malts support a massive hop attack on the palate. Overall, I am actually really impressed with this brew. It’s full bodied and hops off the charts. Perfect balance and flavor. I’d give this an A+ rating. ngeunit1 (1555) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 26, 2012
A - Pours a clear amber-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, citrus, grassy, and pine hops with some sweet caramel malts.
T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, orange, and citrus hops with some bitterness and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, the pine and grassy hops come through with some more resiny bitterness and a bit of bready malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit and piney hops with some resiny bitterness and some sweet caramel malts.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice resiny hop profile and good bitterness. bytemesis (9631) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 11, 2013
Can. Pours clear amber, medium off white head, nice lacing. NIce citrus and light pine aroma. Flavor is about the same, light passionfruit, light sweet, light bitter. Light body, oily texture. Pretty damn good for the ABV. ALLOVATE (3095) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 17, 2014
Pastel, sunny orange, misty and almost still in appearance with a shortlived, tight, white crown. Piney, resinous nose; quite camphorous and raw with plenty of grapefruit and blood orange coming through. Candyish, bitter, dry, creamy, full bodied, piney and malty sum it up nicely. Has a pleasant toasted malt base upon which layers of citric fruit, bitter, spicy, resinous whole hops and camphorous, pinewood flavours dwell. Good length; dry with plenty of bitterness. Nice body, not cumbersone and very soft in carbonation. Well rounded, fresh, bright and hoppy. This is a devilishly sessionable ale. Enjoyable! Can from The Wine Emporium 210814. Another great looking can from these guys, and the beer is pretty good as well.
