On tap at the brewery. Pretty much jet black foamy dark tan head that settles to a solid film and leaves dots of lace. Aromas of dark roasted malt, cocoa, coffee and licorice. Flavor is similar with cocoa and espresso up front with molasses, and licorice flavors on the finish and a mild amount of roasty bitterness throughout. Full body, minimal carbonation, rich and creamy mouthfeel, and a crisp roasted bitterness in the end.
Dark, opaque and wearing a thin foam. Chocolate and licorice flavors are reflected in the nose as well. Good body and finish is bittersweet. BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - SEP 1, 2014

The cask and oak aged version. Pours really lovely. Nice golden bubbles in the blackness. The oak notes are excellent. Not bourbon as such but dark wood notes. But it is still light and not cloying like some Imperial Stouts. Good to see a below 10abv stout out there that is still nice and complex. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - FEB 8, 2014
On tap at Beer Rev. It pours black with a tan head. The aroma is pretty dry and toasted with some cocoa powder. The flavor is very hard roasted with a heavy body, but surprisingly light on flavor for the style. The finish is dirty and roasted. Very light spicy, earthy hop presence. Not bad, but a bit underwhelming. Itzjerm (3055) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Not a good Russian imperial. Thin on the tongue Not much hop not much grain. Skip it thin head not much aroma. Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JAN 23, 2014
Pours a dark black color with a burnt malt aroma. Taste is simple and easy drinking for an imperial stout. Lots of dark malt flavor mixed with a hint of sweetness. I Expected more of a punch from this one. brokensail (16599) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 20, 2014
On tap @ Golden Road. Black in color with a khaki head. Roasted malt, some graham cracker, and a touch of vanilla. Lots of coffee and intense dark chocolate. Slight ash and dark fruit notes. Taste is a bit on the bitter side at first. Nice sweetness to it, though. Burnt sugar, vanilla, and some graham cracker. Notes of ash, coffee, and licorice as well. Mild fruitiness. Pretty good.
