(Draught) Pours a clear orange body with a medium white head. Aroma of orange, caramel, earth, and toffee. Flavor of orange, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and light pine. Incredibly sweet.

Growler on the RBSG 2012 bus. Typical brewpub quality IPA, mostly malty without enough hops. Watery grainy with plenty of bitterness but a woeful lack of hop flavor or aroma.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter finish.

Dark orange pour, white head. Aroma is muddled with some earthy hops and lots of caramel malt. Flavor is again muddled, some stale hops, crackery malts.

This orange hued beer starts off with a citrus aroma that fades as the beer warms up. It packs only a medium hop punch and it leans toward the vegetal/floral side a bit too much for my liking. For an Imperial, it doesn’t rough up the palate.

If this beer was called a Wee Heavy, I’d give it higher marks but for a 2IPA it just doesn’t cut it. Too sweet, too malty, not enough hops. Interesting flavor set and for you malt head - you’ll love it. For a hop head like me this beer is not very exciting.

brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 27, 2012
The beer pours a surprisingly dark amber color with a small off-white head. Wow, super sweet nose, full of caramel, toffee and sugar. Some hops, but mostly just grass and pine. Fairly vegetal, but maybe a little citrus. The flavor is horribly sweet as well; all caramel and toffee with very little hop character. Mild pine bitterness, grass, and vegetal hops. Not at all a fan of this beer.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a small off white head. Sweet, caramelish and solid bitter flavoured. Sweet sugarish and pine hoppy finish. Way too sweet.

GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 25, 2012
Tap at Golden Road. Even though this debuted yesterday, the character of this is very stale to the point where I think it must have sat in tanks too long or overheated tremendously after fermentation. Clear, deep orange. Flat. Mega cheesecloth nose, very stale aroma. Taste is cheesy, sticky, nutty, sugary. Stale all the way. Not sure how this happened. Sugar bomb on the palate.

KyotoLefty (10603) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUL 22, 2012
Draught at the brewery. Bronze-brown color. big caramel nose, fruity, with light hop. Very grassy hop and sweet toffee flavor. Big contrast. Interesting but too cloying.
