LIght aroma of darker malt. Barely detectable hop. Amber color with an off-white head that is almost respectable. Low carbonation. Starts with sweet malt, though not dark, and there seems to be a bit of lemon. There is not much bitter, so it’s more about malt. The beer sort of drops off. The malt and flavor go away. The mouth is left with some sour/citrus, some herb/veg, but no real bitterness. It is what it is. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUN 3, 2007
(Bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of mustiness, butter, florals, and grain. Flavor of corn grain with some fruity sweetness. jetzler (622) - oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA - MAY 9, 2007
Bottle, pours a nice medium golden color, that looks good for a lager with decent head. Taste is fairly large and ceral in taste, reminds me a bit of a biere de garde, but not so farmhouse in aroma. Mild hops, Tasty and quite drinkable would make a good session brew. jimhilt (2610) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 28, 2006
Pours a five finger off-white head that fades to a ring leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Apple/malty nose. Starts sweet, apple cider flavor, some burnt apple at finish. Very smooth, easy to drink. $1.40 for a 12oz bottle from Liquid Solutions Tigard, Or.

This was not terrible, but not great either. This one goes from salty to sweet to sour, and never really seems to quite get it together in the mouthfeel. Lots of alcohol and semi sour fruits are present in the aroma, which leads into this malty and overly hopped for the style. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - AUG 15, 2005
On tap at the brewery. Pours a copper/red with great clarity and a white head. Nice and malty start, but the hops were too much for my taste, long trailing bitter finish with a slight green hop taste in the finish. To much bitterness in my opinion. Argo0 was kind enough to give me a sample of this beer, and I thought slightly better of it than he did. Strong alcohol aroma. A light orange, cloudy beer, and doesn’t or smell like a bock ought to. Fairly sour with lots of cherry. These flavors are not awful but don’t really belong in this style. This beer is a mess., but the sour flavor and fruit provide some redemption. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 7, 2005
(12oz bottle) Minimal beige head with no retention, atop hazy amber body. Aroma is sweet, cherry, some alcohol, sour, mild lemon. Taste is sweet, cherry, light alcohol, light astringency. Watery medium body, some stickiness. Suttree (6385) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 25, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2004 Brownish Gold, no head. Fruity, malty aroma - apples, maybe? Nicely effervescent. Sweet, bready - like muffins. Some berry flavors, as well. Slightly salty, spicy finish. Very rich and nicely balanced. Thanks, Secret Santa!
