On tap at Golden Valley, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is robust, with notes of dry cocoa, oats, and toasted bread. Flavour is similar, with low residual sweetness - oats, cocoa, and roasted malt. Thick palate without much sweetness at all. Well-constructed and enjoyable. Good.

4/19/03 Tap at brewery. Black, with a tan head, mild malt aroma, with a bit of earthyness. Roasty coffee flavors and traces of chocolate and nuts. Nicely smooth front to back, and all in all, a very pleasent drink.

Very solid, pitch black stout. Sweet without the taste of ham. Served on a nitrogen tap, which could have been better but otherwise good. Slight malty acric taste finishes.

Ferris (16107) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 30, 2015
Draft - Oats, cocoa and some chocolate notes. Jet brown with a decent brown head. Toasty notes, some dark fruit and a rich body. A bit boring, but OK.

AleDrinker (1089) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - NOV 27, 2007
The name sure is appealing... But it just doesn’t really size up. Aromas of coffee and chocolate are there but they are disappointingly mild. Flavors are on he sweet side. Body is creamy. Finish is a bit too clean.

Taste comprises light coffee, richer chocolate notes, dark malt, subtle roasting and charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout, becomes a little sweeter in the close.
