Keg at the brewpub in Beaverton, 11/11/14.
Lightly hazed golden amber topped with a moderate off white swirl.
Nose is caramel, light spice, rich fruits, vanilla, touch booze fumes.
Taste comprises caramel malt, spice, toffee, fruit cake notes.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Drinkable but fails to deliver on the ABV presented. Arayaga2 (2197) - portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2014
Dark copper color, and nearly headless. Aroma is minimal, but slightly worty with paper notes, and taste is the same, with prominent caramel. $4/22oz douglas88 (9176) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 14, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Pours a reddish copper color with a medium tan head. The aroma is light caramel, some spices, crystal malts. The flavor is more light spices, toffee, some sweet fruity malts, caramel. Smooth. Fine beer. kwjgaucho (1) - Tigard, Oregon, USA - JAN 31, 2013 does not count
Decent warmer, had better but also had worse. Not too distinct, but they didn’t go overboard on the sweet.

Bottle. Sweet malty base with some dark fruit, spice and orange rinds. Smooth finish with a touch of pine.

22oz bottle. Pours a dark, slightly hazy copper color with a meager head. Funky nose, smells tangy and faintly of caramel and molasses. Thin body for a bigger beer. Apricot flavors, caramel, toffee, and a tang that I can almost describe as salty. Interesting and complex, but much better on draft at the brewery. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 12, 2011
Bomber served in a tulip. Pours hazy orange-brown with minimal head. Nice aroma of brown sugar, dates, caramel and earthy funk. Sweet flavor. Medium body, smooth texture, low carbonation, and a malty finish. Alphadelic (2237) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 24, 2011
A rich and festive red ale. A stiff and robust nose. In the mouth it is sweet, strong and full of fruit. Long and rosy in the finish. Sleek and a little oily. Definitely warming, caramelly and intensely fruity. Similar to some barley-wines. BelgianBeerGal (4066) - Panama City, Florida, USA - APR 27, 2011
Traded bottle. Pours a nice, clear copper color with a medium khaki head. The light aroma is oranges and pink grapefruit hops, very much Pacific NW. Surprisingly enough the hops don’t dominate the flavor. The richer malt really shows here. I think it’s good but possibly a little disjointed. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - NOV 27, 2010
Dark caramel ruby, small pale sandy head, looked flat until i aggressively poured it. Earthy caramel, young oak aroma. Silky smooth, tannic caramel medium body, kind of works, at times seems combative. Stemmy wood, little pine edge. Enjoyed more with each sip.
