UPDATED: AUG 19, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Hazy copper colour, small head. Mildly roasty and mildly malty. Light-medium bodied with restrained hops and light butter/toffee. Typical Franconian beer, rustic and drinkable.

Koelschtrinker (20591) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 23, 2011

Amber colour. Thick head. Caramel-accented aroma. Also has a light spice. Caramel-accented bread. Lightly breadcrusty. Full body.

FatPhil (16390) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 26, 2007
500ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, German Beer Days 2007) Shared with Tranquility. Very sweet malty aroma. Even sweeter to taste. Slightly sticky it’s so sweet, but at least it has some bitterness to liven it up. Sut still too sweet. Oh - look out for the pickled onions in the aroma. (no, not vinegar, actual pickled onions.)

MiP (15920) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAY 10, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. Amber colour, seems a little hazy. Small stable white head. The flavour is mild, but good. Slightly spicy hoppiness, but mostly just a good, mild maltiness. Very mellow.

bierkoning (13392) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2005
Brewery tap. Golden color, a bit hazy. Hoparoma, with just a touch of barnyard. Full bodied, very malty, with the taste of fresh hops. A touch of butter and caramel. Lovely rural beer.

Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUN 24, 2008
May 01. 2008. On tap at Brauerei zum Goldenen Adler/Braueregasthof Endres. This clearly was one of the best beers we had on our Bamberg trip. It’s the only beer this brew pub makes at the moment, and each batch is 4000 liters. The color is dark brown-red amber with a dense head. The aroma has a lot of caramel, toffee and slightly roasted malt. The flavour has a lot of smooth and delicious caramel and toffee, a very light (but pleasant) malty sourness, smooth light sweetness and a light grapefruit bitterness. The body is full, smooth and very harmonic - it’s truly nice, and if you are close to Höfen (a little north of Bamberg) - go for it!

MoritzF (9974) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - OCT 31, 2013
(draught at the brewpub) Hazy, deep amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Slightly buttery cara-malty aroma with mildly bready and hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Hearty, mildly bready and buttery (cara-)malty taste; sweet malty finish with late arriving herbal hoppy bitterness. A bit on the sweet side, otherwise decent Franconian quality. 25.X.13
