UPDATED: AUG 30, 2007 A pale orange beer with a thin off-white head, with huge bubble in the liquid. The flavor is slightly metallic and slight caramelic. The flavor has primary notes of straw and caramel, but also metal, leading to a dry end.

Bottled (from landbierparadies). Copper colour with a small beige head. Aroma is wood, some resin, mild sweet malts as well as some slight herbal and non-sweet syrupy notes. Flavour is wood, resiny notes, some mild fruity notes as well as quite strong sweet and bready malts. Pleasantly balanced.

Cask (Bayerishe Anstich) at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy dark bronze colour, rocky head. Buttery malt aroma with a whiff of vegetables. Medium sweet with soft, well rounded mouthfeel. Salty finish with grassy bitterness. A mild and nicely malty very drinkable beer, but the vegetables in the nose distracts.

On tap at Goldener Lowe Drugendorf. Hazy mid brown colour lasting beige head. Malty Lagerbier. As Nick explained yesterday this is your standard beer in a brewery and therefore is all things to all people. Malty enough to be satisfying some vague hop. It’s fine. Quite tasty. Happy to have had another. Brown malts. The equivalent of a best bitter.

Bottle, from trade with the Grand Old Lady, Maria. A clear, dark golden body is topped by a nice, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma feels metallic at first, soon overpowered by grassy, slightly spicy hops. Some maltyness too. It is quite dry in the mouth, although a bit more sweet than I would like it. Nice bitterness, and some almost caramel tasting maltyness. Balancing bitterness in the end. A bit sweet this one, but nice and tasteful anyway. 110601

Golden-brown with a nice head. Rich bready aroma with light toffee notes. The body is thin, the flavour is bready and nutty. Dryish finish for the style.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2010 Draught at the brewpub. The aroma seems a little smoky, but I cannot trace it in the flavour. Hazy brown colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour has a slightly rough bitterness. Not as malty as I expected from the colour. Quite boring. 5 3 5 3 11

Bottle, 4.9% bought at the brewery. Strangely rough aroma, a little unpleasant. Clear grey amber colour. Small off-white head. The flavour has some caramelly malt, OK sweetness. The finish leaves a bit of rubber on the palate. 5 3 6 3 12
