Big coffee flavors dominate early only to be wiped out by an enormous about of Willamette hop flavors. One of GPBC’s most requested beers. Complex and full of flavor yet amazingly sessionable. Brewed with coffee from Primavera Coffee Roasters here in Birmingham, AL.

Very solid stout. Nice malts buts not too sweet. Nice coffee, but avoids the overdose ashy quality you can get.

Solid coffee stout. Rich, nutty, cocoa. Full bodied. Nothing mind blowing, but good beer.

honestly not much to say about this one. decent coffee flavor but otherwise kinda meh.

weitz15 (593) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 11, 2016
Mild aroma of coffee beans, but very faint. Thick dark brown pour. Flavor is too strong, almost unrefined coffee beans. Mild carbonation.

On tap at Good People Brewpub, AL, 2.5.16. Dark brown-black. Ash, roast, old bittersweet chocolate in the nose, Ash, dry, bitter taste with hints of cocoa nibs. A little too light body, dry, bitter, roasty finish.

Cybercat (6023) - Georgia, USA - JUL 7, 2016
Taps coffee brown with a thick and fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma features rich coffee, roast malt, molasses, chocolate and smoky hops, plus a snippet of licorice. Flavor offers quality coffee, roast malt, smoky hops, molasses and subtle licorice tones for an outstanding crater of stout. Velvety mouthfeel presents firm, smooth body and lively fizz. If you live in Birmingham, or are passing through, this is a must!

Pours opaque coffee brown with a very thick and rather persistent tan head. Roast malt aroma has definite notes of quality coffee, can well as smoky and molasses undertones. Flavor has bold strokes of smoky roast malt, coffee, and molasses. An excellent companion to peanut butter cups. ;) mouthfeel has good body and fair fizz. Be good, grab a can!

Thanks, nafesdad. The beer is black with brown edges. The head puffed up hugely as I poured the beer. It settles into a thick blanket of light brown foam. Lots of lacing, very good retention. The aroma has a lot of caramel, molasses and some chocolate. The coffee flavor is also strong, but it’s a bit of a nondescript dark roast with some ash and a little fruit. Light metallic note. The taste is on the sweet side but there’s a pretty hefty dose of roasty bitterness, particularly in the aftertaste. Nice caramel malt sweetness at the base. The coffee flavor on top of that isn’t my favorite and is quite strong. Some chocolate, again. Some mild hoppiness. Lots of coffee in the finish. Light but creamy feel. The coffee feels pretty strong with caffeine in the beer, but maybe, I’m just sensitive to that. Pretty good.

Can shared / road soda. Dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma is exactly what it says on the tin upfront, coffee and oatmeal with pretty strong metallic notes, roast, caramel and cocoa. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Gespuccian (141) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 29, 2016
This is good. Dark, dark brown. Thick creamy head. Coffee and dark roasted malt on the nose. Coffee hits you on the first sip, but subsides as a silky oatmeal and malt dominates the palate. Not as much a coffee stout as an oatmeal stout, IMHO. But still very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
