Very heady, very cloudy. Dark orange in color. Smell is very strong citrusy/earthy. Taste is of mellow citrus, smooth, and very balanced. Very sessionable IPA. And a pretty dank IPA! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(July 2013, Can from Bottleworks, SEA) Appears clear, deep apricot. Nose is quite thick and sticky, almost fat/sweet hops. Some pineapple and pot. Quite pleasant taste, lightly pricking, subsequently more sweet and bitter hops. Well hopped alright.

My Bottom Line:

Earthy hop resins and their citrusy buds develop dank, grassy greenery within this India Pale Ale’s caramel malt profile.

Further Personal Perceptions:

-A veil of foam tops the cloudy amber.

-The hops also share plenty of geraniol.

-The flavor profile could be tighter. There is a lot going on, but it is a whirlwind. Albeit, a nice whirlwind to parasail through.

-The soft natural carbonation increases drinkability.

ours orange/amber with off-white foamy head, lots of lacing on the glass (snifter). Hop aroma of oranges, pine resin. Taste is sharp and tart, hops up front, malt on the finish. Smooth with a little edge.

ABUSEDGOAT (2872) - California, USA - OCT 8, 2013
Hazy amber color, moderate head, decent lace/retention. I successfully predicted a few of the hop aromas here - cascade and centennial. Grapefruit, citrus, pine, big and fruity sweet hop aroma with moderate caramel. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness, a little too sweet for my tastes but really nice flavors here.

Hazy straw body with a tall white head. Moderate grainy malt character. A little doughy. Some light toasted bread. Fresh floral and grass notes. Some light sweet fruit. a bit watery and thin.

Draft. Pours a clear copper color with a thin head and bubbles rising to the top. Nice grapefruit aroma with some hops. Smooth taste. Tangy flavor with some hops. Not dry. Very wet. Good balance though.

Bottle in PDX. Nice, almost sugary, nose with some citrus, with good caramel. Light copper color. Good toffee-ish sweetness / some serious hop burn in mid / good balance in final orange juicy and sweet malt. Medium body. M+Nice stuff. Tangy and not overdone.

On tap @ Olaf’s. Pours heavily clouded pale orange with thin white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and a bit of floral hops. Taste is clean nutty caramel malt followed quickly by big hops: piney, citrusy, earthy, and bitter. Bitterness fades easily to clean finish. The opaque appearance and lacking aroma make are throwing me a bit, but this is still tasty.
