4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reviewed 3/1/13. 22 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is a two finger offwhite shade with many of the usual characteristics in an IPA (okay retention, good texture, nice patchy lacing on the glass). Pretty standard IPA appearance.
S: The hops bring both a good deal of grapefruit peel/flesh, and permutes into a piny, peppery aroma after opening up some. Caramel malts provide the backbone. Very good, especially considering it seems to be a typical "crystal malt and pine hops" IPA I’m oh-so-used to on the right coast.
T: I’m really enjoying the grapefruity hops that open the palate up. As the flavor progresses, it shifts from grapefruit to bright, piny qualities on the finish and aftertaste. The malt profile helps to keep things in check without overpowering. While it doesn’t really have any standout qualities to it, the finesse and refinement of the execution is what makes this a great IPA.
M: It’s thick and creamy, yet dry all at the same time. Hop resins accumulate on the palate to a very pleasant level. There’s just something about it that gives an incredibly ’bright’ feel to it.
O: It’s not particularly unique, but the execution here is top-notch. The beer of the month club I got this from has been WILDLY hit-or-miss so far (emphasis on miss), so I’m finally glad to receive a really good beer from them.
Pours hazy gold with a bit fluffy white head. Nose is tangy and citrus. Very tart with an orange juice note. Very carbonated. OK. jgb9348 (6280) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 15, 2017
A nice slightly hazy golden and light copper coloured body with a small three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, grass and light malt. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with toffee, caramelised sugar, grains and earth all noticeable and only a touch of bitterness, some sweetness from honey and caramel and a little earth on the taail end. Aftertaste is rich from the malt, showing some alcohol bitterness and a touch of grain, but no real hop flavours at all. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from The Liquor Collection in Honolulu, O’ahu, Hawaii on 30-December-2015 for US$2,25 sampled on the train from Washington to New York on 01-December-2016. trapped (3150) - New York, TURKEY - DEC 14, 2016

gold orange pour. aroma wheat orange amarillo. Tastes doughy firmly bitter some dry alcohol bite. Sweet As Pale is way better. This in fact feels like a pale that’s been shoehorned into the IPA style. polo_marco (332) - milton, Vermont, USA - DEC 8, 2015
Drinking a 12 ounce can. Scent is slightly off could be a bit stronger I do smell great citrus fruits with a nice hot exterior background some caramel malt. Taste is quite bitter starting off then a nice smooth lemony malty backdrop sits on your tongue for the perfect amount of time. This IPA makes me believe that there could be a good life.
