Brown dark color with beige foam. The smell is roasty with malt and nut. The taste is roasty malty and a bit too foamy. The aftertaste is a bit boring.

Dark brown color with tan head. Rusty, metallic, old cellar from the bottom-fermented yeasts. Taste is coffee, more rust, quite spicy from the yeasty. Too much carbonation. Interesting.

Pitch black, huge head, lively carbonation. Smell is metallic white pepper and very intense lemon sourness. Taste is creamy bitter-sour. Very subtle hints of milk chocolate. Delicious fizz. Nicely balanced, no frills, nice!

Bottled from Gall&Gall, Naarden (good to see that even these guys are gradually expanding their selection of beers). Black appearance, small beige head. Aroma is not very strong but nice, roasted malts, licorice, some cocao even. Strong flavor of roasted malts, sweet licorice, wort, little bit of caramel, cocao, hint of coffee, finishes more bitter than sweet. Im pleasantly surprised, its so good im actually going to get more of this. Finally some good local stuff from t Gooi.

(Gooisch Zwart) Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a glass tankard, ABV 6% Very brown on the body, almost black. Tall and thick brown head, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing around the glass. Aroma has some roasted malts, lots of milky chocolate. Taste follows, plenty of milky chocolate and as a result the beers is slightly sweet, but thats only at first. On the finsish roasted malts, giving a subtle bitterness, carrying on the aftertaste, for quite long too. A touch of olive pit for a moment, cocoa. Very tasty Medium thick body, a bit high on the carbonation without becoming annoying. Sticky palate. Very tasty beer, I could drink it by the bucket.
