On tap. Pour is dark copper with a small tan head. Aroma is very sweet with some notes of hazelnuts, caramel, and slight butter. Flavor is much like the aroma, a bit on the sweet side, but quite drinkable. Bitter finish with some slight booze. crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Tried cask + draft. Enjoyed draft better. Nice malty, bready, slightly herbal brew. Nice. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2013

Bottle sample at Beoir Go Leoir. Caramel malt and orange hops aroma. Clear copper with a small beige head. Buttery caramel malt, orange, and cheesy hops aroma. Medium body, soft carbonation. DrnkMcDermott (3175) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle: I was in Kenwood Oak Lawn to sample Sophie, Matilda & Summertime, but the manager just got in cases of this, and wanted me to push it. So here’s a report from the six pack I bought for sampling. Big nose of English hops under the cap. Deep brown color, but more translucent, a good-sized head of foam that settles to some lace around the edges. Taste has toasty malts, not as deep as a brown ale, but indeed a fuller version of a bitter (call it a Fuller Fullers, eh?). A full-on, warm-fermented English Ale with more body than the base Honkers, and delicious when chilled. I know I just got paid to sample this out, but I didn’t get a taste until after I finished the work and polished off an extra bottle in my basement writing the report.

Bottle. Deep ruddy brown with a thin light khaki head. Sweet doughy nose with some pecans and fresh cut wood. There is also some caramel. The taste is black tea and toffee. Pecan notes are also present in the lightly toasted finish. Nicely done with a slight boozy kick at the end. mwMcGill (20) - DES Moines, Iowa, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Bottle in to snifter. I expected more from a 25th anniversary special release. It's fine for an ESB but I have had better. Good biscuity malt and balanced hop profile. It's good, but not great.

Draft on tap at the Clybourn Brewpub at the 25th Anniversary Party (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer deep copper pour, firm haze, with good copper elements, glow. Frothy offwhite head with good lacing, some gentle earthyu hops and toast, caramel and toffee. Some sweetness, with fentle earthy hops, spice. Initial is medium bodied, a touch thick, toffee and toast with mellow earthy hops. Touch of bitter earth. Some sweetness, biscuit and toast. Gentle toffee and earth hops. Gentle bitterness, lemon, and bready malts finish. Ok. Pretty drinkable. zebra (2384) - Illinois, USA - MAY 12, 2013

May 11, 2013 - tap at GI 25th anniversary party. Brownish orange pour with lots of head. Aroma was malty and fruity. Taste was consistent with aroma and had a touch of spice and some roast. The finish was a bit dry.
