Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. Hazy copper, white film. Sweet, malt, candy and sweet roll aroma, sweet, bitter undertones and a delicate malt taste. Medium body, slightly bitter finish.

Bottle poured into a shaker. From notes. Citrus and pine with a good dose of roasty caramel. Pretty good.

Draft at Moriartys. Clear dark amber pour. What ever head there was pretty much disappeared. Clean dark grain flavors. Burnt oranges. Pecans. Cola. Toast. Celery. Rich mouthfeel. Better as it warms.

Aroma: kind of odd mix of fruit and floral but not bad. App: golden brown, no head. Taste: slight floral, slight citrus. Palate: much thinner than I expected. Overall: seems like its trying to do too much and the beer suffered for it.

Pretty decent, though somewhat confused ale. Has a lot of conflicting flavors, from nuts and herbs, to grass and honey.

Clear Orange with a foamy orange-white head. Initial lacing is sparse but it leaves behind a rather high amount. Nose is citrus hops, caramel, grapefruit and malts. Flavor has a mildly bitter hop profile upfront, followed by fruity, piney and roasted barley notes. Body feels rather heavy and the carbonation is moderate. Rather hoppy but quite good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. Slightly hazy copper. Aroma of malt, earth, some oxidation, honey-ish notes, a bit of caramel and light fruitiness. Sweetish flavor, malty, a bit oxidized (cardboard), with mild fruitiness and caramel and a finish with very mild bitterness. Medium-bodied.

Bottle pours amber brown with thick light yellow head. Aroma malts and spice. Taste a meld of sweet caramel and hop dullness with spices, banana. Brief mild hop finish. Slightly thick palate. Pretty average.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving scant lacing. Earthy caramel aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and earthy toasted nuts front to back. Lasting, dry caramel finish.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with considerable head. Nose has some mild citrus fruit along with fresh baked bread. Flavor is deep and satisfying maltiness in the beginning - mild molasses and cream notes- , with a soapy and pungent bitterness on the finish. A pretty excellent special bitter from a brewery that has lost my patronage after their move into (inter)national markets that has sacrificed quality on many of their brews.
