Pour light amber with white head. Aroma is strong caramel malts. Tons of caramel malts, very smooth texture, easy to drink. Very malty with not nearly as much bitterness as I would expect, its actually got a little sweetness to it. Its got a little bit of citrus hops going on, fairly subtle though. Pretty good. A decent though not outstanding ESB. Hop bitterness in the aftertaste, I would like to get something more out front in taste and aroma. Lacy, dark golden. Medium mouthfeel. Very drinkable, nevertheless. MaltOne (371) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 8, 2013
Nice overall profile. Nice fall beer - transitioning from crisp hoppy beers of summer to darker, maltier beers of cold weather. Pours clear reddish copper with medium, creamy head. Not getting much aroma from this bottle. Taste is well balanced, dry, subtly complex, a delicate peppery finish. Palate has nice substance without being heavy. Very nice beer. bhensonb (15251) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle from sethdude. Pours bright, clear copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is fruit/floral. Or floral/fruit. Med body. Flavor is floral/fruit. I’m thinking plum skin. It’s on the dry side, hoppy, but not bitter. Violets come to mind. FenrisWolf (36) - - SEP 6, 2013
Pours a mild amber and red blend with a hoppy aroma. Lives up to the bitter name with a deliverance of spritzy hop bitter front end, immediately followed up with a smooth malty finish. Great anniversary blend. Would definitely purchase again if available.

Bottled 10MAY13. Nose crystalline with light English yeast, carmael and a hint of darker roast. Light dough, sweet fruit, mild hops. Pours a beautiful clean copper with a sudsy tan head (and a smidgen of yellow!). Taste lightly sweet but seemingly gains a bit, low bitterness but with a little scratch from the hops, earthy caramel and a slightly stronger roast than anticipated, but also a touch of tart/semi-sour grapefruit and lemon. Medium body feels a bit fuller at times. Simple but done pretty well, I’d have another. mtdewa1 (441) - rome, New York, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Dark amber, nice head and lacing. Malted aroma. Semi malted fruity taste. Bitterness on the end. Smooth easy to drink. Good esb. mcclainc50 (217) - New York, USA - SEP 3, 2013
Pours a nice ber color with a decent head thay leaves moderate lacing. Aromas of malt a little citrus. Tastes of malt is strong with a little bit of hoppiness to it. Earthy notes and a little caramel and some citrus notes. Not bad, but very simple for an esb. cheap (5863) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 3, 2013
friendly maly aroma. looks like iced tea. decent sizzle from the start but it sure does come across rather high in personality. starts off just alky kick on top an esb, then as the session moves on that bitterness almost goes astringent, but never quite gets there. yes, this is more than 6% and you know it when it hits yer lips. almost borders on cloying as well. finish is bitter medicine. hangs a while on the sides of the tongue after the end of the session. Overall, seem perhaps stronger than than 7%. DiarmaidBHK (4924) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2013
Bottle from Total wine sterling. Pours brown with a half inch of white foam. leaves a lot of lacing. has a bit of caramel on the nose. Has a nice hop note or two on the tongue. finish lingers a bit. solid.
