Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

Rory’s Birthday bottles. Served chilled and refreshing. Slightly cloudy. Thirst quenching like lemon barley water with a slight citrus zing. A summer alle. Well done wheat.

Onesimus (107) - Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2017
Golden with little head. Medium carbonation. On the nose wheat, yeast and lime. In the mouth its thin (not creamy) moderate carbonation. Quite refreshing but no big flavours up front following through is a bitter hint of lime and bread. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 12 fl. oz., Tesco, Bournemouth, England, UK.
Jasnozłote, mętnawe piwo z gęstą i puszystą pianą oraz przyjemnym, łagodnym, cytrusowym i pszenicznym aromatem. W smaku orzeźwiające, cytrusowe, lekko pszeniczne z wyrazistą, grejpfrutową i chmielową goryczką na finiszu.

Can. Pours light amber. Aroma of wheat, cereal and mild gooseberry. Light sweet and bitter. Lacking any spiciness. You’d be better off going for a German hefeweizen.

Live rating of a cold 330ml bottle from a Beerhawk selection. Poured into a half pint chalice. Hazy gold, no head. Now I am prepared to believe that the Goose Island people are sincere in their blurb, and I hold them no grudge, but I found little discernible aroma, and not much in the way of flavour beyond a little ofthe breadiness I associate with some German lagers: Disappointingly bland and underwhelming. I checked my other wheat beer ratings for some perspective, but I don’t appear to be prejudiced against the style. Drinkable if you’re thirsty, but not worth seeking out. Am I missing something?

Bottle. Pale golden with a thin white head. Sweet corny aroma, flavour is similar. OK, not great
