COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2011 Top of the heap as Hefe’s go. Basically tastes like a hefe without being sweet, which makes it great to me. Good citrus aromas, nice yeast. Easy to drink with a full yet clean finish.

Bottle tasting at work. Not a bad commercial wheat by Goose Island, while this (as their flagship) doesn’t stand up to more finely crafted wheat beers produced for the craft conosuers, it is a wonderful introduction to the craft market for those just getting their feet wet. Like New Belgium, Goose Island caters its flagship to the larger consumer market that is still caught up in the (*sigh*) light beer craze. However, delving into their line of products, you find a lot of great beers deserving of the craft culture’s attention.

citrusy and fruity with a decent body. it is actually very drinkable and crisp, but it lacks character. a good summer/session brew for those lacking a bit of imagination or motivation.

Bottle from Utobeer. Pale golden, clear, white head. Spicy and malty aroma. Spices take the lead in the mouth. short finish. Best forgotten.

tap: pours cloudy yellow. Arouma of wheat and citrus. Sweet caramel malts. Finishes a bit dry and mildewy. Sharp carbonation, tastes a little stale.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Very strong citrus, hop smell. I can definitely taste the wheat beer qualities, but the citrus flavor is a little too overwhelming for my tastes. Quite a bit of carbonation and a fairly abrupt finish. Probably my least favorite goose island beer I’ve had.

Clear pale yellow color with a good sized foamy head. Aroma of lightly spiced wheat and citrus. Flavor is sweet and spicy yeast and a lemony citrus bitterness. Light bodied but still feels oddly thick on the palate. All in all a good beer.
