COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, its a beer thats densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We dont filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thats how you know its unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Its not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youd expect.

Pours a sickly pale, cloudy yellow in a Weizen. Smell is obvious of wheat and big on a light citrusy lemon smell as well and is overall quite nice. Taste is wheaty, somewhat tart and lemony, and I can swear I taste the alcohol in this 4.2% beer though... Very thin, watery, and somehow tastes a bit boozy. I actually like wheats, but this wasnt worth revisiting.

Ive had this beer many times on tap and bottled - Most recently from a 12 oz into a shaker. Pours a straw yellow with lots of haze and cloudiness. Nice head if you pour straight in. Looks OK. Aroma is very mild - slight wheat, slight citrus, a little earthy/grassy. Smells decent, but a bit light. Taste is very light (read: watery and slightly dissapointing), light citrus/lemon, slight wheat and thats about it. Overall, its very light and unforunately only 4.2%, but it is nice and refreshing on a hot summer day. You can do better, but its OK.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium frothy head. The aroma is sweet light malt and some citrus. The flavor is yeasty with light citrus, and light sweet malts. A slight touch of bitterness. A touch on the watery side.

Draft. Hazy pale yellow with a white head. Lemony citrus aromas. Wheat spiciness in the flavor with hints of lemons. A bit thinner than I expected.

There is a lot of hype about this beer, since Im next to the 312 area code, but there isnt too much to back it up for me. It is slightly too light, slightly too muddled, slightly complex and not much else. I guess it has a pleasant taste and is easy to drink, in the summer that is.

An aggressively average beer, pouring golden yellow into my chilled glass with a substantial white head. The flavor is a malty wheat blandness with the merest hint of a hoppy follow through.

Little aroma with decent color, this American Wheat is a good ’gateway’ beer, owing to the popularity of Goose Island in the US. Not a bad interpretation of the style...the only problem is, this style is just lacking compared to the German and Belgian Wheats it’s derived from.
