COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, its a beer thats densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We dont filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thats how you know its unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Its not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youd expect.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium frothy head. The aroma is sweet light malt and some citrus. The flavor is yeasty with light citrus, and light sweet malts. A slight touch of bitterness. A touch on the watery side.

There is a lot of hype about this beer, since Im next to the 312 area code, but there isnt too much to back it up for me. It is slightly too light, slightly too muddled, slightly complex and not much else. I guess it has a pleasant taste and is easy to drink, in the summer that is.

An aggressively average beer, pouring golden yellow into my chilled glass with a substantial white head. The flavor is a malty wheat blandness with the merest hint of a hoppy follow through.

Little aroma with decent color, this American Wheat is a good ’gateway’ beer, owing to the popularity of Goose Island in the US. Not a bad interpretation of the style...the only problem is, this style is just lacking compared to the German and Belgian Wheats it’s derived from.

Draught. A kind of light American wheat. Not much hefeweizen character. Refreshing, but boring.

Smell of LME and light melon fruitiness. Bland and slightly bready flavor. Some light lemon is all I get. Clear yellow and fizzy.

Hazy, pale hay with a small, but retentive white head. The aroma is nothing spectacular with all elements being rather subdued. Banana, clove, yeasty esters, citrus fruit and lactic acid all make an appearance without much contribution from any hops. The light and airy mouthfeel definitely screams of summer beer that goes down without making any impact. The flavors are also light and bland, just like the aroma. While I said in my rating of the Willow Street Wheat that I thought it was a close match to Oberon, all signs point to this being the actual market competitor. Its just too damn boring to be something I would ever buy again. I would rather see them scrap this one and bottle the Willow St. Wheat. Actually, perhaps something to compete with Victory Whirlwind and just forget about Oberon...

Pilsnery color, light golden, hazy. Not much carbonation. Fuzzy mouthfeel. Light hoppiness. Malt apparent. Fairly unimpressive.
