COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, it’s a beer that’s densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We don’t filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. That’s how you know it’s unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. It’s not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that you’d expect.

One of my favorite Goose Island brews. Thick, golden body and a sweet, fruity aroma traditional of wheat beers. Great unfiltered blend that lingers.

Draft… DLD’08… Hazy, straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. Lots of citrus and pale grains in the aroma. Light to medium-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet (too sweet) with reserved citrus. Finishes sweet and grainy.

Was not terribly impressed. It’s a typical American beer that’s trying just slightly harder than Budweiser to have some kind of flavor. Not bad but certainly average.

Bottle: This beer is exactly what you would expect. Cloudy pour, aroma of corriander spice, flavor is crisp and light citrus, bready. Crisp, pale, bready malt finish. Best served VERY COLD.

Missed this one. This has to be the most popular micro brew in chicago. Its nice and refreshing on a summer day and better than any macro brews here. So why not. Pours cloudy hazy yellow some head, an unfiltered look. Smell is of spice and wheat. Taste is of a faint watered down citrus/malts/wheat/spices and lots and lots of water. Finish is lifeless. Overall an average wheat.

bigtaster (1038) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2008
Pours hazy pale lemon yellow with white head. Aroma of strong citrus, lemon and grapefruit. Flavor is a bland wheat with a smidgen of citrus and yeast. The flavor is dominated by carbonation. Reminds me too much of the typical American macro brew.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2008 On tap in Chicago (many places). Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is tons of wheat. The taste was a strong wheat presence with some citrus, maybe even pineapple. Pretty good.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2005 Sampled again in the bottle. Poured a light and cloudy yellow. Aroma is sharp with lemons and some floral hops citrus. The taste has light lemons and flowers. Surprisingly hoppy for an American Wheat. Nice grassy taste with a refreshing lemon note in the background. Not nearly as openly sour as some in the style.
