COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the digits suggest, its a beer thats densely populated with flavor and loaded with character. We dont filter it, so none of its life and soul is stripped away. The first thing you notice is the hazy, cloudy appearance. Thats how you know its unfiltered. What hits you next is the spicy aroma of Cascade hops, followed by the crispy, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body, the result of blending barley malt with torrified wheat. Its not like any other Goose Island Beer, but no less that youd expect.

There is a lot of hype about this beer, since Im next to the 312 area code, but there isnt too much to back it up for me. It is slightly too light, slightly too muddled, slightly complex and not much else. I guess it has a pleasant taste and is easy to drink, in the summer that is.

On tap at Johns Restaurant & Tavern in Winfield, IL. to accompany the food. Dispensed to a shaker displaying a hazed, orangey/gold color, with a presentable layer of soft white froth that was rather persistent, and foamy dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was soft wheat, a bit of grassiness, light citrus as lemon & grapefruit, and subtle, honey-like sweetness. Ditto on the flavor, light bodied, with lively carbonation, and a low, earthy hop bitterness. Didnt expect much, but quite sessionable at 4.2%, nicely food compatible, and would work well as a yard work hydrator.

355ml can from Waitrose. Nice artwork. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with disappearing white head. Nose is bready/biscuit malt with tiny banana aroma. Get some melon and honey too. Light smooth mouth feel. Taste is malty with hints of melon and lemon. Dry slightly bitter finish. Not bad for a session alternative to lager.

Im a massive fan of this. Juicy an vibrant and easy going: slightly creamy and hazy in the mouth, bit of lemon in the aroma and the taste. Easily available. Love it when Im in Chicago, love that I can also get it at the Morrisons in East Kilbride.

Can from Waitrose, West Byfleet. Citrus aroma. A slightly hazy gold. The bright white head dissipates quickly. Light/medium sour with a sweet undertow. Lemon. Cloves. Yeasty. Light bodied. Slick. Kinda chalky residue. Long dry finish. Had it previously and was unimpressed, but found it more refreshing from a can. However its somewhat muted. A bit too light weight. Not urban, that should be heavy, surely. Wont can complain about the price, 20% as its a new line.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Pours a cloudy orange color forming a small white head with minimum retention and no lacings left. Nose is sweet. Notes of caramel and wheat. Flowery hops. In overall, a sweet and mild taste. Lots of malts. Light body and carbonation. Good drinkability.

My favorite beer of all time! Im a girl that drinks a lot of beer and I want one that is more complex than a typical wheat beer but not hoppy, which is why this beer is perfect for me!

Bottle, 355ml. A hazy pale orange colour with little to no head. A fresh citrus hop aroma. Flavour is hoppy with a little malt and citrus, faint wheat and herbal notes. High carbonation. Not much going on here, pleasant enough but not enough wheat coming through and far too fizzy.

Ehh, I mean it has some redeeming qualities to it. The grain profile on the front and the finish are fun and what makes a wheat beer interesting. That being said, there isnt really anything else going on and thats all you can smell and its kind of an ugly looking beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon, herbs, slight banana, a little grain and subtle honey. Taste of lemon, honey, some herbs, slight grain, and a little banana. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A sweet, honeyed, herbal finish. A sweet wheat ale with a hint of herbs and lemon. Ok.
