Draft at Fobab. This was an improvement over the odd cherry version from Belgian Fest. Pours a deep amber with a pinkish head. The nose has a spicy oak quality, vanilla, raspberry jam. Seems to have cleaned up some and focus on the jammy qualities. Faint clove. On tasting, it still has that sticky caramel thing going on and some white pepper, but the raspberry dominates. Never cloying, has a good tannin structure and balancing acidity. Solid beer. deyholla (11605) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 20, 2012
Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours a near clear ruby amber with a reddish white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a lot of raspberry with underlying Belgian yeast, sweet grains and a hint of barrel. Flavor is again full of slightly tart raspberries with a backbone of sweet grains and Belgian yeast.
