Goose island big hoppy red... Pours a medium hazy caramel amber brown
with a thin to medium very light beige head...
Big hoppy nose primed with citrusy hops and an even-keeled bready malt
backbone... Flavors are big and hoppy emphasizing citrusy fruits and
bitter rinds. Extremely earthy and dry finish yet seemed muted in some
way. Def not astringent, moreso earthy.

Served to a shaker at Goose Island’s Invasion of the Hopleaf on 5/26/10. The color was a fairly clear, brownish copper, with a modest amount of off white, bubbly foam that reduced rather quickly to a ring and film, but left some nice, curtainy lacing. The aroma was a smack of fresh citrus, fruit, and some malt sweetness. The flavor added to these a very pronounced hop bitterness that was followed up with a solid dryness into the finish. Impressive!
