Strange look for a bcs, this is the lightest version to date, a dark brown, no black at all, maybe the chocolate... The nose is very sweet chocolate with a hint of chili, blah... On tap at GI Stoutfest 2011. Pours black with almost no head, just a few bubbles of tan froth. Aroma is very sweet, lots of sweet cocoa and some wood and bourbon notes but mostly just sweet candy chocolate. Flavor is again, very very sweet, tons of chocolate candy and a touch of spice with just a little bit of bourbon notes. Finish still sweet, losing a lot of the bourbon. Full body and a soft carbonation. This is by far my least favorite bbs, way too sweet and the chocolate overwhelms the rest of the already sweet beer and subtlety of the bourbon and wood notes. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 15, 2011
Mexican BCS - sampled on tap at Stoutfest 2011... pours a semi-thick stouty pour with lighter hues towards the edges of the glass and topped with a thin light beige head... Aroma had chocolate notes with a bourbon backdrop, light cocoa and spice... Bourbon sweet flavors with dark fruit accents with a good deal
of toffee and caramel in the background. Lightly spiced maybe too

Sampled on tap at Stoutfest 2011 (Chicago, IL). Pours a pitchblack thicker pour, a faint dark brown head dies to nothing. Aromas are rich thick cocoa, sweet and bitter minger, with caramel, toffee, touches of Bourbon and vanilla tannins, some toasty caramel, toffee sweeten the deal. Initial is thick and full, chocolate and toffee, roasted cocoa, dry and bitter mingle with milk chocolate, bourbon spirit, wet vanilla tannins, oak, and a thinner finish. The finish leaves legitimate cocoa, not booziness as this becomes a nice warm weather BA stout that goes down just a little too easy. Finish is silky and chocolatey with a touch of dryness, barrel tannins clinging. Nice. Holds up with a full enough body, rich silky chocolate, not as dry and bitter as I’d want, but sweeter with rich lingering flavors. I thought this worked very well, but could see others being turned off by sweetness.

Tasted on 3/12/11 on draft at Goose Island Stoutfest. Pours murky dark brown with no head. The nose is coconut and vanilla oak and bourbon with a good dose of bitter chocolate, dark roasted malt, and some coffee. The flavor is tons of chocolate and whiskey with coconut and vanilla oak, and even more chocolate. The body is massive and oily with light carbonation and a long chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon finish.
