UPDATED: SEP 20, 2014 From notes, sampled at FoBAB 2012. Part of the Bourbon County Flight. After having the Koval and Red wine barrel, this was business as usual. Maybe less of a kick than the normal bourbon county, but 99% the same as the regular, which is awesome.

Rerate this one, 2014 312 block party. Really damn smooth. Sweet and bourbon. This was better than the 2014 or 2013 regular.

On tap at 312 block party. Poured black with a ring of tan. Sweet aroma of vanilla bourbon. Buffalo and pappy are in the same boat. Very smooth bourbon taste. Up there.

At GTMW. I thought this was at least as good as the original, just a slightly different character than the heaven hills, stronger bourbon, perhaps a bit hotter.

Draft pour at GTMW 2013. Pours a deep, opaque dark brown with a small, solid brown ring for a head. Not a huge difference from regular BCS, as far as I can tell- though I was halfway in to a massive beer festival when I had it. Notes of roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, charred oak, brown sugar, chocolate, raisins, caramel, and molasses. Medium-full bodied, with a rich, coating mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Delicious. This whole line is so incredibly good. I was happy to keep waiting in the Goose Island line for more variants.

On tap at 2013 GTMW, same black pour with dark brown head, the aroma is pretty much the same of other varients, ton of chocolate and vanilla with a good amount of booze mixed into it as well, nice smooth mouthfeel, tons of chocolate and fudge, pretty enjoyable.

On tap at GTMW - Pours black with a thin tan ring of head. Nose is soy sauce, boozy, with brown sugar and lots of heat and sweet roast. Taste is sweet, with lots of sugar and malty booze. Thick and slick--huge bodied. Too sweet for my tastes.

A healthy sample at the GI 25th Anniv. block party as a quest in barrel storage heaven. Viscously dispensed to plastic with a thick,black/brown color, a light layer of brown foam, and negligible lacing. With a full nose of roastiness, chocolate, bourbony booze, barrel hints, and vanilla. The flavor was similar, syrupy, bold, and more warming than the other variations. Still "knock your socks off" excellent!

Dark pour with an espresso head. Sweet bourbon whiskey dominates the aroma. Chocolate taste. Very creamy mouth feel. Sweet bourbon finish with charred notes and vanilla.

On tap at Goose Island 25th Anniversary Event. Extremely smooth. Bourbon character with vanilla and chocolate.

Pour is black with no head. Aroma is big and boozy with some subtle sweet notes of vanilla, fudge, and toffee. Whiskey shines through in the flavor with a background of oak, toffee, and toast. A little less harsh than the regular BCS, but it loses some of the flavor as well.
