(2012 bottle) Small tan head atop brown-black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cherry, some milk chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, Bourbon, light roast. Taste is sweet, cherry, some milk chocolate, Bourbon/vanilla. Sticky full body, low carbonation.

Very easy on the carbonation, no head, only a lacing that hugs my glass. It pours dark with a red hue. The aroma is of sweet whiskey, wood notes, cherries, carmel malt, chocolate malt, and booze. In the taste I found smooth sweet whiskey, sugar, sweet malts, a touch of chocolate malts, booze dryness, and a pleasant cherry dominating finish. Overall this was a fine beverage that doesn’t hit the palate hard, you notice the booze but it does come off potent.

This one poured a deep dark black with a very small tan head. Aroma was huge rye barrel, fugde, roasted malts, and mild dark cherry. Flavor started with a big dark chocolate and rye taste followed by a marshmellow and cherry wood finish. Big excellent stuff.

Sample at the Goose Island party (Madison)
Madison’s may have been a madhouse but at least I got to sample one of the better versions of BCS that I have tried. Because of their price I don’t actively seek them out (or wait in crazy lines at the GTMW) but when I do get a chance I’ll jump on it every time.

Aroma / Appearance - The body is similar to every other BCS - oily, black, and thick with a flatness that comes from having no true head. Cherry infused rye whiskey blasts the nose with coffee and anise. The sweet note in the air reminds me of the BA Batch 9000 from Bells that I had earlier in the day.

Flavor / Palate - Cherry syrup, oak, and coffee dominate a whiskey driven experience. This could almost be an imperial stout / rye whiskey blend as strong as the ethanol is. Even so it drinks dangerously well for such a big bold beer. The sticky finish leaves a bitter finish that reminds you are not drinking something timid.

Bottle shared generously by Luke. Pours a deep black color with a medium brown head. A big nose mostly of barrel and cherry. The flavor is dominated by super sweet cherries, chocolate, rye, something spicy well. A thin body. Very good and super decadent. I’m not sure it’s better than regular old BCS but BCS is so damn good. Quite a nice brew.

22oz from Jim. Thanks! A: very thick black with a thin mocha head. Nice legs. N: Chocolate, coffee, cherry, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, peppercorn, rye. T: Cherries are pronounced, quite sweet. Like a dark chocolate covered bing. N: Very oily. Thick. Alcohol is well-hidden. O: A very interesting combination. It doesn’t totally work for me, but I wouldn’t turn it down again, either.

Solid black with virtually no head. Aroma is bourbon, cherry, fig, marzipan, chocolate, hint of booze. Oily mouthfeel, full bodied, sweet on the palate with a slightly boozy finish. Taste is cherry, chocolate, toasted coconut, marzipan. Nice but I prefer the other Bourbon Counties.

Bottle share. Bomber bottle date 11/12/12. Of course it's "black". Ruby highlights. Aroma big with cherry, milk chocolate, wood, and alcohol burn. Taste is a lot of cherry, showcasing tartness. Like liquefying cherry skin, adding chocolate, soaking wood chips in it, then squeezing the glory out of the wood. Then serving it with a shot of bourbon. It's delicious.

Bottle @ Champions League night, thanks dedollewaitor. Deep ruby body with a small ogåffwhite head. Aroma is like the regular bourbon stout with cherry sauce like christmas eve, whiskey, barrel, vanilla. Flavour is sweet cherries, whiskey, barrel, roasted malt. It has a fruity/cherry like and boozy aftertaste. Complex. Wouw, this is so far a crazy Champions League/beer night. Lets all hope for a AC Milan victory tonight. Forza Milan.

Bottle @ Milan-PSV warm up. Trade with Sean9689. Pours black with a very small creamy head - slowly fading. Complex nose. Flavor is Cherries, whiskey, wood, vanilla, coffee, smoke and mild alcohol warmth. Smooth, silky and soft. Overly complex and delicious. Holy scheiss!
