draft at sheffields. p blk no head nose is like bcs just a slight choc bent
to it although not much different, fl again very similar to bcs just
slightly more chocolate but this could pass for reg bcs and I wouldn’t
think of it perhaps a yr old bcs as the cocoa seemed to have really
mellowed this out although I did have it after ancho, smooth rich choc
bourbon vanilla and some healthy heat nice

Tasted on draft at Sheffield’s. The pour is oily black with no head. The nose is sweet with vanilla, cinnamon, oak, maple, bourbon, molasses, and milk chocolate. The flavors are bourbon and oak with quite a bit of sweetness up front, moving to charred bitterness and some coffee. The bitterness is not from the coffee flavor, but more from the addition of the cocoa nibs. The body is massive with very light carbonation and a super long and layered finish that starts with charred oak, moves to sweetness, and then bitterness.

On tap at Sheffield’s GI invasion. Black pour no head. A little sweeter than the bcs some dusty nestle quick chocolate in the aroma. The richness of bcs really comes out. Sweet chocolate flavors hide the bourbon. Sweet but a good beer. 7/4/8/4/15

Draft on tap at Sheffields (Chicago, IL). Pours a pitchblack hue with brownish ruby edges, dark and opaque with a small darker brown head that dies to loose bubbles, no real lacing. Aromas are roasty malts, vanilla tannins and light barrel Bourbon presence, sweeter and darker chocolate mix, some toffee, more vanilla tannins, chocolate chip cookies. Smooth and sweet. Initial is fuller bodied with a nice dose of darker chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla tannins, light spirit influence, a touch of smoky ash, and roasty malts keep popping in and out. Heavier bodied, a heavy dose of dark cacao, roasty malts, sweeter toffee and a big blast of vanilla tannins. The dark chocolate seems to lighten the brunt of the Bourbon onslaught, making the cocoa and vanilla tannins. Smooth and silky, chocolate chip cookies, vanilla extract, decent roastiness. Finish is sweet, silky, cocoa in big amounts, vanilla. Lovely with a fleeting touch of warmth. Sweeter, but tasty. The version of BCS where the barrel falls the most back.

Some chocolate on the nose but very dormant even upon twirling in glass. Some Cajeta aroma. Little to no head. The thinnest of the BCS variations I have had. Lots of notes and flavors of dark bitter chocolate. This is the smoothest of the others. Seems like the Cocoa Nibs smoothened out the Bourbon. Drinks better colder. Some flavors disappeared as it warmed up.
