Pours dark n thick. This beer is just perfection. My all time #1............ Caskalefan (168) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - DEC 14, 2013
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2014 Midnight black, thick pour with a quickly receding finger of head.
The aroma is to die for, like sticking your head into a bag of fine, fresh roasted coffee beans.
The flavor opens up, beginning with powerful espresso notes, and segueing seamlessly into deep, dark chocolate, followed by vanilla beans, and finally, lovely bourbon.
The body is syrupy and rich, although perhaps a bit thinner than regular BCBS, due to the coffee infusion.
The finish may also be a tad less lengthy, but the intensity is greater, as it positively envelops the palate in a crescendo of flavors.
This is, hands down, my favorite coffee stout, and perhaps my favorite stout in general. Well worth the hunt.

This is it folks! I never thought I'd rate a beer as perfect but I can't find a damned thing wrong with this one. The aroma has sweet and bitter coffee notes. It pours like tar out of the bottle. The taste is powerful. Has a nice alcoholic warmth with lovely coffee flavor along with the smooth thickness. Oh god! This is just perfect. MHOSKINS (389) - Cleveland, Tennessee, USA - JAN 16, 2014

Bottle shared with northropfrye on Valentine’s Day. Beautiful dark colour. Aroma of toffee with hints of coffee. Lively on the palate. Rich coffee toffee taste with hints of raisin and bourbon candy. I absolutely loved this beer! Perfection!

My favorite imperial stout. The coffee just makes this so much better than the plain bourbon aged stout. Impeccable pour, aroma, and color. Finished better than any beer that I have ever tried. It is work the hunt to find it. Too bad all of the stores mark it up! DCLawyer (2914) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - NOV 22, 2014
2011 and 2012 bottles->snifter. Black with tan film. Tons of coffee, roast, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla. Perfectly balanced, complex. Love this beer. Hits all of my favorite notes and characteristics. My first perfect 5. ebone1988 (2122) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - NOV 22, 2014
Aroma is bourbon barrel, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, coconut. Appearance is black, light brown head. Taste is chocolate, coffee, sex, oh my god. Mouthfeel is perfect, cannot detect booze, fantastic. Oh my god. Overall, so so so so so good. WanderinCelt87 (197) - Hamburg, New Jersey, USA - NOV 27, 2014
2013 btl. Pour from a bottle is a nice dark chocolate with a dark tan head while the aroma has a very soft coffee note mixed with a little chocolate. Taste is a little sweet from the barrel aging mixed a strong chocolate taste. Leaves a dry after taste on the tongue.
