Pours black, nearly still. Just a tinge of carbonation. Nose is milder than the other BCS bottles, but SO complex. Vanilla, oak, and a deep, rich caramel complement the sweet, roasty molasses and chocolate normally present. The flavor explodes - the bourbon is toasted, and a hint of bitterness bubbles up from beneath. Only a bit of alcohol showing -- this is superbly smooth, and the real Pappy flavor just comes through at the end. Finishes dry. Masterful. Wish I had another that I could cellar for a couple of years. anataxi (1) - Massachusetts, USA - APR 27, 2011 does not count
A true rarity The bourbon smell and taste is strong but strangely dose not over power the other things going on in this beer vanilla, oak, molasses, chocolate and dark berry unreal! gorditoabd (637) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 25, 2011
Bottle at Justin’s apartment, except not, because he had to move due to a water pipe bursting. Looks like a standard imperial stout, but the aroma is all booze, leather and dirt. Taste is leather, dark fruit, dirt, and BOOZE!!! Absolutely full of greatness. Cherries, dark fruit, booze, and earth. Amazing. Thanks Justin.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Bold black body. Thin creamy khaki cap.
S: Lots of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and chocolate. A lot going on, but not distinguishable from other big, complex stouts.
T: Wow-moment complexity. The bourbon is assertive in flavor, but not heat. Lots of chocolate to go with the bourbon notes and maybe even a little cola flavors.
M: Hearty, but smooth and not burdensome. Nice bold finish-no heat.
O: Top notch. Really puts the Vanilla and Regular to shame (both of which were way too hot and noxious for my liking). Right there with the Coffee in terms of sheer enjoyment. Rando7 (787) - Iowa, USA - APR 23, 2011
UPDATED: APR 24, 2011 Bottle pours black and oily with thin tan head. Aroma bourbon and vanilla. Taste with strong bourbon with vanilla, chocolate, tiny bit of roast. Prolonged alcohol finish. Palate thick and smooth, a touch sticky. Alcohol very evident. Basically this is aged Bourbon County Stout with a better and smoother bourbon. Liked the Coffee Stout better but it’s really a matter of taste at this level. Really good.

22. Thanks, ebay. I appreciate the opportunity to hemorrhage cash into you. Pours black with a dense and creamy dark tan head that doesn’t stick around for too awfully long. Big sweet chocolate and vanilla nose. Sweet, creamy, and roasty. Very bourbony. Smells like BBQ. Sticky thick fairly lively body, given the style, but very thick and rich. Roast, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla, maple, and bbq on the mid-palate. Sweet, roasty finish. Nice big thick BA impy. steelcitybrew (454) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 16, 2011
Pours a dark black with a small tan head. Aroma is complex vanilla, bourbon, licorice, chocolate. Taste is sweet caramel. Chocolate, vanilla and mild booze. Very good palate, lots of heat. Overall an excellent brew. birderbeerer (112) - Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2011
Pours black, almost more like a super-rich brown with a small but stubborn head.
Strong bourbon scent but within it are deep, rich malt scents. Dark chocolate, dark fruits, and black licorice.
Taste is so smooth! Immensely rich taste but allowing for big sips too. Mellow caramel with raisins, figs, and dark chocolate, all imbued with bourbon. And the bourbon is smooth too. No bitter, no smacking, only ever so slightly boozy.
Rich, mellow, smooth, and huge. What a unique and special treat to enjoy this beer. Lagunitasfan (1323) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 10, 2011
Tasted at the mikes gi vertical. Nose is high sharp alcohol. Smooth bourbon. Taste massive alcohol bomb with oak and hints of cherries waaaaay in the top and back. Massive alcohol. Lots of movement but lords hotness. Super glad I got to try this one.
