Bottle with thanks to [email protected]
Pours opaque black, small dark brown head, dissipates fairly quickly, good lacing. Aroma is heavy on the bourbon, cocoa, oak, vanilla, cocoa again. Flavor is full sweet, light plus bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Huge bourbon notes, but in the end it basically works.
Full size keg pour at a sorta regular bar. Pours identically to regular BCBS. Aroma is also identical. Taste is also very similar, slightly drier and more peppery. Slightly less sweet. The differences between this and regular BCBS are so minute that it's frankly not worth the effort to go out and seek it. wchesser (2178) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 26, 2018
At Black Project share 2018. Deep, viscous black. Nose is loaded with vanilla and toasted marshmallow, light bourbon, dark roast malts, light oak. Taste is slightly sweet, with rich and very smooth mouthfeel. Awesome balance with almost no heat. Flavors of dark roast and chocolate malts, light bourbon and oak, and silky vanilla and marshmallow. Incredible stuff. JaBier (8445) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JAN 13, 2018
Bottle shared by a friend. Pours darkest brown with no head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, marshmallow, bourbon and vanilla. Malt and chocolate flavor with bourbon accents before a sweet vanilla finish. Very tasty stuff. Didn't have it side by side with regular BCBS, but in comparison by memory (from probably just a day or two before) I would say the edges are more rounded on this one. Less sharp than the regular and more of that vanilla/marshmallow character from the barrel. djd07 (16452) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 28, 2017
Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong fudge, vanilla, roast, wood, bourbon. Slick body, roasted malt, dark chocolate, wood, nice sweetness, boozy finish, enjoyed this.

500 ml bottle from Keith - thanks again, Keith! Pours a deep, dark, not-quite-opaque brown with some amber highlights around the edges and a small tan head that settles into a ring. This one really leans into the barrel, with tons of toasted, charred oak dryness and sweetness and char, burnt brown sugar, bourbon warmth, cocoa, roasted marshmallow, vanilla, and roasted malts. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a dry, boozy, sweet mouthfeel. Probably the best BCS of the whole lineup that night. fraternie (1033) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 15, 2017
As expected this is just loaded with bourbon character, intense and dominating, with rich toffee, campfire smoke, vanilla bean above bourbon spice and charred oak. Smooth from the extra barrel age, rich as well. Long, spicy finish. dzudohonor (362) - POLAND - DEC 7, 2017
Aromat silnie destylatowy, wanilia, czekolada, lekko likierowate, w smaku czekolada, wanilia, ciemne suszone owoce, dębina, silnie beczkowe, trochę słodów palonych, lepsze niż podstawka, czuję potencjał po leżakowaniu. Bardzo dobre, ale daleko mu do genialnego Proprietors 2017! jtclockwork (17769) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 1, 2017
Bottle - pours black white head - nose and taste of bourbon, chocolate, smoke, fudge, vanilla - full body DrnkMcDermott (3193) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2017
Draft at Goose Island's BCBS media preview in October. This special release is a throwback to the original BCS, using the same base recipe, just aged in 100 11-year-old unrinsed Knob Creek casks. It's like the base BCS, but definitely much more heady, with more bourbon notes overpowering the oak and char.
