I don't know if this is the best Imperial Stout I've had but it's up there. Aromas bursting with smoke, dark fruit, molasses, cocoa and bourbon. Pours black with a big frothy tan head that leaves a lot of lacing. Complex flavors of wood, smoke, dark fruit, vanilla. The high ABV provides a nice warmth. Mild bitterness at the end. Low carbonation with an oily body. A very expensive beer but it lives up to the hype jandorris (822) - Warsaw, POLAND - NOV 10, 2017
2014. W aromacie sporo kawy, piękna beczka. W smaku sporo alkoholu. Zaznaczony bourbon. Sporo kawy, gorzka czekolada. Generalnie tej wersji dałbym tak 4-4.1.
2015. Ale super jest to piwo. W aromacie praliny czekoladowe, kawa, wanilia, kokos. W smaku cudne praliny, walilia, kokosik. Jest gładkie, wyklejające. Brak alko w smaku. Super/10. Zasługuje na jakieś 4.7 w mojej skali RB.
2016. W zapachu coś niepokojącego. W smaku chyba nawet lepsze niż wersja 2015. Jeszcze gładsze. Pyszne. gouipa (12) - GREECE - NOV 10, 2017

2012 edition- Smokey roasty, smooth. This basically describes the beer. Oak and Worcestershire sauce with wood, cherries, banana, coffee and blackcurrant with a hint of smoked meat. Vanilla and leather elements as well on the nose. The taste is of strong whisky, roasted malt and pomegranate. The potential on this is amazing to see what happens to it. pkomar (529) - Poznan, POLAND - NOV 7, 2017
2014 - loads of barrel influence (vanilla, coconut, leather, wood) along with decent amount of chocolate both in aroma and in taste (even stronger). Smooth, dense, intense and with huge depth. What makes it even better that the depth is created solely by malts and barrel aging. no coffee, no cocoa or spices, yet the flavour and intensity surpass most regular stouts. Very good beer. teddybeer (4109) - Madrid, SPAIN - NOV 4, 2017

Black color, no head, very low carbonation. Aroma with notes of roasted malts, spiced wine, ¿vermouth?; after some minutes we can note that roasted malts dissapear but chocolate hints appear. Flavor is slightly bittery, with a high coffee presence, strong notes of coffee beans..., licorice hints and strong alcoholic presence, perhaps unbalanced, high presence of Bourbon notes. Final is mild bittery with a high presence of alcohol. Dense and creamy mouthfeel.

Thanks to -I'm sorry but I don't remember his name, he is from Minnesota and I got during his visit to Spain in 2012-
Black color with a small presence of a beige head that quickly dissapears, maintaining a circle on top of beer just close to the glass. Dense while was poured. Aroma has notes of roasted malts, less than 2008 edition, any way the notes of chocolate are more noticeable with a high alcoholic presence. Some minutes after appear some notes of molasses, black ripe fruit and dry figs. Flavor is toasty, roasty, slightly sweet, no cloying, with a light presence of coffee beans, licorice and chocolate malts, its 14.5% of ABV perfectly hidden. Final is slightly bittery with roasted malts, Bourbon notes appear on palate. Creamy and smoothy mouthfeel, very dense.

I got this bottle in a trade with Hoppymeal. Thanks Derek!
The only other GI brew that I've had was the Imperial Stout and that one was delicious. Here goes:
It pours from 12oz bottle(2007) a very thickish looking pitch black with a small, rapidly receding head of tannish foam but there's some good lacing to be found here.
The smell...well, it hit my nose buds as soon as I popped the cap. All sorts of things going on here. Dark fruit, caramel malt, chocolate, vanilla, and, what about that rambunctious nose of bourbon??
The taste is both outrageously tasty but also smooth. Big bourbon notes along with raisins, vanilla, chocolate, a really nice bitter chocolate flavour that adds a nice balance to the sweetness...wow!
The mouthfeel is so thick and chewy and it finishes with that bitter chocolate and a good kick of that bourbon. Man. This is some crazy shit and I'm loving it. The abv is slightly noticeable during the swallow and a little more noticeable after the swallow but heck, I still find it very drinkable. I suspect that some aging would make it even more drinkable but I just couldn't wait. ;^) I can see why so many BAs rate this one so highly, like it's special. It truly is. As a caveat, I'm *not* a Bourbon fancier so my loving BCS is all the more impressive.
Thanks again, Derek, for another wonderful drop! Bif (2342) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - OCT 28, 2017
On tap. Pours a black color with a faint tan head. Aroma dark fruit, malt, vanilla and hint of bourbon. taste of dark fruit, bit of dark chocolate, roasted malt with trace of vanilla. Mild bitterness with a dry finish. Full body, thick, smooth and creamy with only a hint of the alcohol. Very enjoyable.
