2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Rated at Keystone Colorado, around 9.3K Meters above sea level. Rated in typical ski chalet glassware. Dark, black, some reddish hues. Little or no head. What is presented, graces the rim of the glass and is a smoky tan color. Aroma is of bourbon......deep turkey nasty southern bourbon. Sipping lightly, it appears a though was a cheap mix of Jack D and a moderately acceptable stout. (Baltic or Russian). Finishes with a kentucky type palate....more bourbon than beer. Hmm... why is this rated so high (ABV?)
Aroma: Strong oxidation notes - dark fruit, maybe a very mild soy sauce, bourbon barrels, vanilla, wood, chocolate and cocoa, pretty sweet aroma, very very intensive. Appearance: BLack body, low head, creamy and brownish. Taste: Wow, that's something, so full and sweet, rich, some roasted bitter notes. Palate: A very long sweet finish, low carbonation, very high body. thebeerbandit (36) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 14, 2018

Had on draft at Whole Food Pub in Plymouth Meeting waiting on Abby at D&B.
Dangerous looking jet black with a tiny brow head.
Nose is big chocolate and cherry dark molasses malt. Smells big.
Taste is very bourbon-like. Chocolate + dark fruit, caramel and vanilla with a noticeable alcohol presence. Sweet and not very bitter.
Palate is medium with little carbonation. This is definitely a slow sipper.
Overall, this is the biggest, most flavorful beer I’ve ever had and definitely both different and exceptional. Too much to have often, but wow! This is a hell of a beer. M_Mic (4) - - JAN 14, 2018 does not count
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2018 This a great imperial stout for sipping and just enjoying the deep rich flavors of bourbon barrel age stout beer. It's time to have a fire, sitback and enjoy a great beer that Americans makes. mrjez (711) - Osaka, JAPAN - JAN 13, 2018
2017 bottle bought in Australia, shared in Japan. Pours a deep olive brown, little highlights, next to no head. Sweet bourbon aroma, well pronounced but not overpowering, dark malts, vanilla, caramel, a little burnt note and light smoke. Really ace flavour with barrel oak and vanilla popping, plenty of sweet booze and caramel balanced with dry savoury malt notes. As it warms it reveals layer upon layer, really deep complex notes. Super smooth feel, almost flat, flavours spreading over the palate, no burn just warmth. No need to age this, it's perfect right now, ace balance and depth. Loved it. This is hard to come by in New York's capital region... until the end of 2017 when it seemed everyone had it. Having known about this brew for some time, it did not disappoint. Even a friend who is not eager about craft brews simply gushed over its flavor. There's coffee, roasty, caramel, herbs, leather, earthy, raisin, smoke, vanilla, and the most wonderful mouthfeel ever.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2018 1st of 2 2017 bottles, drinking 1/8/18. Pours a dark, dark brown with no head. Nose is big - has a boozy smell, with some black licorice. Taste is huge - chocolate is the strongest, but there is also some vanilla, and you can taste the hop backbone but it remains very smooth the whole time. The alcohol is really well hidden. It’s really good but a drop too syrupy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone bconch (471) - - JAN 7, 2018
Jet black pour, no head. Nose of bourbon, rich malt and vanilla. Taste follows with a big bourbon presence but not too much. Very nicely blended and no flavor stands out. Creamy mouthfeel with a boozy finish. Superb

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2018 Solid 5 for sure! One of the best barrel aged stouts I’ve had. It only comes around the Corona area near Black Friday. bobfohl () - San Jose, California, USA - JAN 5, 2018
A great stout, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, char, raisins, hard to get out here in San Jose, shows up around black Friday, doesn't last long. Very enjoyable. airspi (13) - GREECE - JAN 4, 2018
